Hey all you 300DB owners. I thought I would start this thread, so we can bounce issues off of each other as it relates to our boats.

I am in the middle of restoring mine and I know I will run across things and scratch my head and ask, "Why did they do that?" So hopefully we can help each other out here and share our experience.

We may not be the biggest, but most of us have what all the big boys have.

Well this weekend, I replaced all the exhaust hoses on both engines. Some I had to cut off. Found the reduces are bad and I am replacing those. Got both engines started which was a big relief as they have not been started since last June.

Both ran good. The port engine will need a new ignition switch. The Stbd engine will need a new starter. I will be going through both with new plugs, wires caps etc.

I need to clean the raw water filters and modify them so I can hook up a water hose to run them. The plunger thing you place over the inlet is alright but doesn't supply enough water. All the valves are stuck in the open position, so that will be a job.

All in all good weekend and making progress.

I found it!
I was wondering if we had a thread somewhere on here. Maybe if I bump it to the top we will get the rest of the 300DB guys to jump in and say hi.

I think that's my boat you are talking about Jorge. And yes the canvas helps a little but you can still see through them at night with the lights on.

You did a great canvas job, looks great. I was thinking of use that material on the windshield .But dont know if it will be to light for the interiors to be protected from the sun.

The side canvas does provide a lot of shade. But then again I live in the Pacific North West so sun is not our major concern

LOL yeah, I have started to grow mold in my arm pits since I moved here!

Jorge, In your part of the country I think the canvas on the windows would help you keep your cabin cooler. My 300 came with smoke windows in the back, but since I will be operating my boat in Alaska, when I replaced them, I went with regular windows...................
