Geez, pretty harsh language for a "young" person with a job trying to make a living. Hope he doesn't get fired caused he made a mistake and damaged your car.

Don't know this kid obviously but have a hard time understanding why he deserves such a ripping? Maybe its just me but it doesn't sound like some kid street racing a car paid for by selling drugs . . .

Rusting already???
Saturday morning, Its been raining hard here for the past 2 days. :smt013
It doesn't take long for bare metal to start rusting. :smt021

Well I was parked 20ft away from him and he cut his wheel hard and hit me backing up.. :smt021

You tell me you wouldn't be pi$$ed off at a dumb a$$ move like that ??.

Same happened to me the other day but it was my son who backed into my Denali. Two cars to fix at $2500.00. :smt021

I'd be unhappy if someone else's negligence damaged anything of mine. But my point is, calling the "kid" (you never said how old) a young dumbass little bastard and being happy that his bossed was pissed at him is a bit harsh for what seems like a relatively innocent mistake.

I envision a teenager or early 20's when you say young and I see a kid working. Driving a dump truck so probably working hard. Cut him some slack. Have you seen the work ethic out there? Probably not because there isn't much of one. You're a retired truck driver. I'm sure you realize accidents happen.

Have you not ever made a mistake that caused damage to something? If not, good for you but remember most people have. Sorry, I feel for the "kid" and hope working hard for him doesn't turn out to be a losing battle.

P.S. I just dealt with a very tragic death issue at work today that tends to give me pause and comment on the little things that don't matter so sorry for my soap box.

He's 20yrs old. I talked to his boss & he's not getting fired.
But he has to repay his boss for that stupid move he did. :smt021

Sorry to hear that Cincy. It's funny how we get so spun up about the little things until Life hits us over the head with a really major problem.

Thanks for the focus re-adjustment.

Just so we're clear . . . I deal with life and death issues almost daily in my line of work (defense of medical malpractice matters) but this case was particularly troubling.

Anyway, the car will be fixed. I understand your frustration. Back to boating . .. ;)

I hear you Cincy . I guess I'm done being mad.
I just needed to vent thats all. :smt001

Look at the bright side........You could have to be made to watch world soccer...That is lasting damage.....The car will be put back to like new condition.

Saturday afternoon I was sitting in my living room when I heard a large truck pull up my drive. I looked out the window to find the local fire department trying to back up and turn around in the drive. No big deal cause I really respect these guy's.

The first attempt the driver made would have put him 2 ft off the drive completely. Knowing this they sent a spotter out to back him up. The spotter backed him into the drive with one wheel on the driveway and the other on the lawn. The spotter jumps back in the cab and they take off leaving a hugh rut in my lawn.

I am now faced with a dilemma. Do I rat on these guys or just leave it and fix it myself. After a few minutes I call the station and explain to the person on the other end what happened and that I was going to take care of the damage, I just wanted them aware of what happend. They sent to fire marshal out to inspect the damage and he made a report. I don't want these guy's fired but I do want them to know there are consequences for their actions.

This person needs to pay for his mistake. It aint a cheap lesson but it will last him a long time.

will be paying for it anyway in your tax dollars.....the driver would never have a bill passed onto him.....

The boss is probably going to illegally dock his pay and collect from the insurance company. People make mistakes. Remember we were all 20 at one time and made many mistakes. Hopefully not the same one over and over.
