I feel for you guys in the winterize zone!

I count down the hours until I can drive out to the marina and step onto the swim platform and feel the boat give under my feet as I leave land and come to my happy place.

It may be too cold to take out of the slip, but I can still turn on the heater and throw on "Master and Commander" on the DVD player (a great cold weather boat movie!) and curl up in the on the Vberth under a blaket with a beer and be as happy as any man should!

I do not think I could endure the loss of this for months on end!!! How can you stand it?

I definitely miss boating, but there's skiing, snowmobiling, skating, that takes up our time during the winter, and it only bothers me when I go out in the garage and walk by the boat to my car. Like every day.

I'll take the palm trees and salt water of Galveston bay over a snow mobile any day! but I am a chriscraft nut and there is now doubt that every nice chriscraft I have seen has been up around the great lakes!

The title caught my attention.

It’s not that bad...Just some Heavy drinking and the next thing you know its spring.

Well, in reality it sucks.:smt089 It is a huge investmant and if we really stretch the season we get 6 months afloat and 6 months shrink wrapped.

Now, it does give a chance to get those jobs done around the house that were ignored in spring, summer and fall. Spring prep and launch is something to really look forward to. And it makes every summer week-end precious and something not to waste (nothing worse that the summer wedding invite that makes you loose a week-end!). Anyway, must stay positive .......launch in about 20 weeks!:smt038

I think I have concluded that you blue and purple staters have all gone snow crazy!

I just went today to talk to her and say I am sorry.

Plan B,

I can realate to the wedding thing. It is even worse is when you feel like you are mission out when you attend things like your kid's little league game or even worse church... Sorry god. I have issues.

The winter off gives me time to catch up with the house chores (painting, etc.) leaving my summer clear to boat.

It also helps to have one of these!

DJboots,

I like the picture but their seems to be a larger portion of johnson outboards than volvo inboards present. maybe it is just the angle of the sun...

a larger portion of johnson outboards than volvo inboards

lol I've never heard it put that way.

In reality though, I think the consensus is that "The Moot" and "Jobbie Nooner" gatherings offer an acceptable ratio.

That houseboat was a neighbor of mine a few years ago. I'm pretty sure he had more power going to those speakers than he did to his props...

It's simple. We have lives outside of boating.
