Port Lucaya trip Do-over

Mike,
Hey I miss ya dude. Every time I go to my boat the first thing I look at is my platform to make sure I don't have a custom Mikes dinghy lift. So far so good.
Your right, sell your car, quit your job whatever you have to do. Don't miss this one.
Tell the family we said hey.
Jack

Hey Mike

Dealers choice on the tokillya but I've been using Cuervo Gold. I will say it is dangerous to drink those suckers all day when it's hot enough to fry eggs on car hoods. I think we just about wore out that poor Margarita machine on the 4th so I'd better check that all my preventive maintenance is done on it.

For those of you debating going on a trip to the Bahamas, this is going to be the one to take. We are a very friendly group that welcomes newcomers. We have boats leaving from a couple different ports; Lauderdale,Hillsboro, and Boca at present and many of us have made the trip before. This trip will be a lot of fun, there is lots to do, there may be a small portion of alcohol consumed (believe that and I've got a bridge to sell ), and there will probably be a fair amount of 20 somethings with us as well. It will be a great trip not only for newbies but you old salts as well.

Finally, I say we get one of Mike's dinghy lifts for Jack's boat and maybe a rock climbing wall like the other cruise ships.

What is the name of Steve's boat from last weekend? We need to get him to go over too.

I have exchanged emails with Steve and also talked to him on the phone. He is going to try to make the trip. I don't know his boat name but will find out and add it to the list. I don't think he's on the CSR board but I sent him the link to this thread.

Updated list.....

Ship O Fools
White Pearl
Odyssey
About Time
Miss N Mountains
Asureyez
Phoenix
Sunny Daze
Steve's 44EB

not yet committed -

others are welcome!

Here is Mike's new tender, the wings make it lighter for the dingy lift. We can use this to look for lobster!

Hey guys,

Just got back from a great keys trip. Went down to Dry Tortugus for the first time. What a great place.

We are still trying to find someone to watch our daughter as she starts 9th grade on the 10th of August.

If I can get that issue resolved, this will be a great trip for us.

Ken

Ken,

I figured you already had a live-in nanny. If not, you have a couple of weeks to find one!!

Get to Port Lucaya! We missed you in Bimini.

-mike

Mike,

Our "live in nanny" is our future daughter in law. She will be moving to California with Brian after the wedding on July 24th. Too bad... or great!.

Anyway, It will probably happen, because my last resort is my secretary.... darn, I mean administrative assistant. I just try to keep business from my personal life.

I will dial that in this week and get new tickets back from Colorado to Ft. Myers.

Btw. for all of you guys who are do it your selves. Chris and I just spent the last two days polishing the boat. I have had the "guys" do that the last few years. Holy Crap they earn their money.

Ken

Good to hear from you Ken. I'm jealous of your Tortugas trip. I've always wanted to do that but it is so far from here. I would love to hear about it. can you post pictures? How long did you stay?

We all hope you get everything in order and join us.

UI love Ft Jefferson. The snorkeling is awesome and the fishing, now only allowed outside the park bouys. Which is where you want to be any way as it is a meat market there!

Glad you made the haul out there?

Guys,
Had a slight hiccup with my port engine but it's all good and should be back together this weekend. I will post in the diesel section for those of you who are fruity for that kind of stuff.
I read in USA today that we are in an El Nino again. Supposedly equalling less bad weather in the Atlantic. From what I've heard seas have been calm over there. Let's hope it stays that way.
Ken we need to talk on the phone when you figure out what's gonna happen with Heather. I am debating taking my Boat over earlier as I really miss killing my liver with the Flippy Floppys. If you are a go I will wait as I truly enjoy your company also.

Randy,

I posted the pics on this link:

We are still trying to make the PL trip happen, but I am losing hope. Got back from our trip to another mess. I may need to stop going boating or sell my company.

Should I start a poll. Nah... I already know the answer.

Ken

Ken - don't give up hope for the Flippy Floppy reunion. It just wouldn't be the same without you, Chris and Heather. This is the trip you planned for, waited for and tried to make. IT WILL HAPPEN THIS TIME!. Keep working your magic until it happens.

The pics to Tortuga look awesome. I can't wait to talk to you about the trip.

Ok folks

the countdown starts now .....we leave for Port Lucaya in exactly 3 weeks.

Just need to finish a few of those last minute details and speaking of details the boat needs a coat of wax....grrrreeeeeaaattttt

Ray

Ray is right on. 3 weeks before the Memorial Day trip we had 5,000 posts, ideas on days trips, planning tips, pictures, videos, and other hot topics.

let's get excited!!!

I'll start - here are some of the activities we can do while were at PL.....

  • get on the cruise ship (Jack's boat) and go to the Lucayan Waterway. A fun trip
  • get on the cruise ship and anchor at Peterson Cay. Not like Honeymoon Harbor but still nice
  • CAVE BAR (no explination needed)
  • go to Gold Rock Beach (I think we can get there by boat). a beautiful beach best visited at low tide.
  • dance in Count Basie Square like no one is watching (something the Flippy Floppy folks do just fine).
These are just some of the things we do. Chad and Ray - help me out here.

Randy

Ray.
I started waxing Wednesday. I forgot how much fun that is in 93 degree heat. Could possibly be a 2 case project.
Randy,
All that sounds like a good time. From what you guys have said there is plenty to do. I'm for spending some time gettin bugs.
Jack

There is some sort of jeep tour through the "wilderness" that Meg says is great.

I spoke to Sarah last weekend and she is trying to work it out to be there.....uh, be careful of the fire coral.:wow:

Jack, you need to ask Nick but I thing he grabbed some bugs right in the marina last time we were there.

Back to waxing :smt021

Ray

Hi Jack - I called about a month ago and need to follow up with them to make sure everything is good. I'll do that this afternoon and write back to let you know.

How did the sea trial go? did you send the sample off?

Nick and I just got off the phone with CAT. They think it is a fuel flow issue and told us to change out all filters. The primary is a 2 micron filter so if that gets clogged, no fuel.

I may have dirty tanks (just like my mind).
