Hi,
I had a new Kohler Generator installed in my boat last season (don't know model off the top of my head). The low coolant code came up yesterday; I would add coolant, but the fluid showing in the outside reservoir is yellow; the coolant my service center sells is pink.
Can I mix the two? Are they the same, or do I need to find yellow coolant?
Thanks in advance,
Keith

It's suppose to be pink. It's the dexcool stuff. Do not mix different types.

My Kohler has the green stuff. I recently saw a jug of Prestone, that said it could be mixed with any other coolant.

I get mixed messages on mixing coolants. But, the manual for my Kohler says to only use Dexcool. So, I figured - I would stay with that. Things could change from year to year.

I agree...not a fan of mixing difference colors. Kohler must change from year to year. Mine genset is a little older than yours. There was another thread about genset coolant, and there was several posts about Dexcool. It caused me to wonder is mine had the wrong coolant. I could not find anything in owners manual that mentioned Dexcool....so I guess my coolant is ok.

Mine actually has a sticker on top of the generator that says use Dexcool. The manual was less clear.
