Official csr around the world sailboat race - start now

I hear you, at least I get to watch NCIS & The Mentalist.

2 good tools for the race if you dont know by now.

VR tool and the route optimizer at sail.zezo.org

the guy who wrote the optimizer is one heck of a guy from Bulgaria...he be the man. he did one heck of a job and you can read about his stuff (he be big bird) and balak's tool called VR tool in the support forum.

with VR you can plan your track and see exactly why the maneuver at that first gate coming up make sense.

one key seems to be to be able to smoke out the updates of the winds before the 1700 and 0500 updates. Many use ugrib, then use bobzhang216 (china) translator called grib2xml. once you get those, most throw that into vrtool and will see the 1700 wind change at around 1400 and same thing in the morning. havent figured all that out yet, but with sail.zezo, the updates are posted in advance, no figuring out what to do, and it is a no brainer.

all these topics addressed in the forums.

probably can tell i need to get a life and quit sailing unkle buck.

Chuck..

All I can say is tomorrow morning will be interesting. They have to change course and should slow down considerably. I don't get it. Collingdale seems to be following their lead. I'm not getting up at 5:00 am to change my heading.

Gotta run.. wife and kids want me to watch American Idle. (I think the gay guy will win)

Following their lead!!?/!, dont you mean breaking trail and taking point!! LOL

Thank god I didn't sign in this leg, I'd be wasting way too much time trying to figure all this out...

I want to catch up to the Buckman so I can set my course and enjoy the weekend without worrying about this race. knocked 15 miles off his lead today. only 25 more to go.

watch out Collingdale that my plan for taking the lead of the CSR group... Closing in and just 20 miles behind and heading for the mark now...plan to round it before you guys ahead of me..:wow:

that is way to much work!

Turns out my prediction was wrong. Kris Allen won (married, and don’t believe he is gay) Adam is the one that is rumored to be gay, which probably cost him the win. He was clearly the better singer but they are both very talented. I'm sure they will both do well in their careers.

Now back to racing.. I will be leaving work around noon for an overnight boat trip and I am not sure if I will internet access at the marina tonight, so I will likely slip way back. I'm currenly in 6,900th place. Good luck everyone!

Where the hell is Jim? He's the one who introduced us to this stupid race. He dropped out after leg 3?

If I had to guess I would say maybe the new baby, new shop, trouble makers on CSR, bobcats, toys, boating season is back one of those reasons are the cause.

Im a beaten man! :smt021 I was selling my sailing boat but have had that many fender kickers and plonkers come and see my boat that ive given up, one chap wanted to put a turbo diesel in her ( my boats hull speed is only 7 kts??? ) for goodness sake. Every cloud has a silver lining because now im using the spare boat money to buy a BMW X5

On a more serious note dont forget the race starts in 2 and half hours.
