I guess my reply did not deserve a reply?

Spoke with my dealer today. Not sure when we will get our boat back in the water. Don't get me wrong, we can have her in the water tomorrow. But something about me says, I just don't think I want to put her back in not looking right.

The 2005 Midnight Blue has serious problems and I really feel, economy or not, that SR needs to come forward and make this hull right.

Thanks.

My response to your gel coat issue is #62 page 6 LOL
it's the BIG BIG HUGE reply right in the middle.

:)

Celepop,
We recently purchased a new 2008 260DA, but have yet to see it. It'll be delivered in a couple weeks. We know it has 3B-harvest/ash-aurora interior...does that mean the carpet is grey (ash)? What's "Harvest"?

Harvest resembles a burlap sack accept it's baby poo mustardy. Please be very careful with this material, you damage one thread and you'll be re-weaving it forever.

Thanks! Is the carpet "Ash"...and is that a shade of grey?
What about the cockpit seating? Are those colors carried through to that area?

Oh man, damn I'm going blind too!!!!!

Thanks, I'll wait to hear from you later in the week. I am hoping we find a fix rather than having to spray the whole hull. But if it comes down to that to make it right, then I would go that route.

Lemme tell ya, that is COMPLETELY BS. Your dealer can order older models (280 etc. which is ESPECIALLY still in production but work FAST AS IN LIKE RIGHT NOW , YESTERDAY) You need to contact another dealer or the SR web site or PM me and I can give your #s to call to make it your options either confirmed or denied. THERE IS NO REASON FOR THIS; we still manufacture the 280 for say... another 2 week if not a 4 weeker. IF YOU WANT YOUR STUFF............ BE READY TO PAY, CAUSE IT NEEDS TO BE IMMEDIATE BEFORE THEY PUT THAT PART IN THE GROUND WHICH WILL MAKE IT MORE DIFFICULT ON YOUR PART.

Please let me ask , why do you want a spoiler now?
Did you buy it used? And if so why did you buy this particular model without a spoiler? If not, WHY anyway? lol

I've been told by my local dealer and another one on the other side of the state that it's not available.

Yes, I bought the boat used. It's not life or death and I'm not willing to pay a fortune for it.

Yes Ash carpet is gray but cockpit doesnt change all the same colors for 09 which the accent colors of c-pit is now champagne (they did change the color back in 06-07) Your accent pillows in the v-berth would be your choice.

Ill check for you. But im thinking since this boat was not in my plant, they may have changed the model (ie. deck) So the spoiler has to be 04 model. I got confused and thought we were still on the 280da. But ill still check for ya

Welcome Chelepop.

Do you own a boat ? or you can take whatever boat you want ?

No and No lol, I wished we could, but we do get an employee purchase plan if we wish to do so. SR pays very well, but the neighbors boats are more appealing at this time :)

chelepop - Thank you for your reply and contributions to the site!

The reason that I asked the question is that I currently have a 2003 280DA. We love the boat but would like a seating configuration like the larger boats (bench helm), greater cruising range, and a little extra room for sleeping would be nice. The 310 / 330 / 350 are nice boats, but cost was a critical factor in the decision process when we purchased our 280, and once again price is of paramount importance when considering our options for our next boat.

As SR must have shut down the 290 line based on sales, I would assume that when the decision was made SR went back to the "drawing board" and immediately started working a boat that would exceed the expecations of the 280/290 buyer?

Please keep us in the loop if you hear any news (that you are permitted to share) on the 280 replacement plans.

Thanks again,

Mike

Hi Mike, just to let you know that we have not discontinued the 290 line, but did discontinue the 290da06/07. We are going thru the process of integrating the new 290SDA *aka* 310SDA ( as to not confuse anyone on the floor with the 290aj,290ss,290br. I will keep you informed to the best Im able of any changes due to my confidential constraints. :)

TAWCAT................you need to read these postings on blue-purple hulls. http://clubsearay.com/forum/showthread.php?t=7817& and http://clubsearay.com/forum/showthread.php?t=3352&

Tawcat - Do you know which 05 Midnight Blue you have? There were 2 that I know of. I only have the numbers for the color on my boat. It is Valspar 5799A90027. Spectrum's number for it is F551438A.

Is that they one that SR/Spectrum says is discontinued?

Thanks,
Michael

Well it is Valspar and the kit number for our boat would have been F551438AK; not sure if this is the one discontinued or not. But I think it has been.

I'm a 260DA, thanks for checking. It was built in Riverview. An '04 arch would still work on this boat.

I just called Spectrum. The F551438A patch kit, as well as the regular Valspar 5799A90027 gelcoat are both still available. :smt038

Good thing, I have a couple of "oopsies" to fix.

Hey chelpop! :smt024

Now I am TOTALLY confused?? :smt017 Are you saying that the 2010 280SDA will be a redesigned boat with the same LOA as the current 280DA? Will there also still be a 290DA that will be the current (2009) 310DA?

Can you tell them to put a "real" horn on this boat as well as the other 26-35 footers? Just search "horn" and you will see what I mean.

or search duck if you can't find anyone that calls it a horn . Still waiting on the UPS guy too.

It's a little confusing but yes to the 280SDA and the 310SDA as of right now.

I've been following this thread over the last few days on my Blackberry, but am just now getting back to the laptop to weigh in.

This has been said early on; however, cheers to you Chelepop. "True" heartfelt enthusiasm about your company, your product, and your customers is something we don't hear enough- although it's out there everywhere. At the very least, if you listen to the media, it "appears" that every company/corporation is out there to grind the consumer into the ground and steal their money; and, to intentionally provide an inferior product in order to make more profit.

I work for a large insurance company and get sick of hearing that. I know, like Sea Ray, we are all "people" that believe in what we do, the company we work for, and the service we provide. The customer comes first- period. We are not some faceless entity wringing our hands together trying to conspire on ways to simply add another buck to our balance sheet.

Your enthusiasm and focus on us consumers make me proud to own a Sea Ray. I'm sure the company is full of others like you. Kudos to you all.
