A Fun Run Video To Get You In The Spring Mood!!

My friend once got stopped by the NJ marine police and he had a girl on the boat that smoked. She had a pack of cigarettes that didnt have a tax stamp and they threatened to arrest him for tax evasion.

I try not to provoke to the police. There are plenty of times I'm on my boat and may of had a beer or 2. I don't want to advertise any reasons for getting stopped. You know how the song goess. "I fought the law and the law won".
 
A dock mate of mine got stopped in Cincy because he didn't have any state registration numbers displayed... never mind that the boat was documented and therefore didn't need State Numbers!!! But he had some barley-pops in him, so he lost his boat for one year.... Never give them an obvious reason to board you, (I'm not too worried if they do since I only drink at the dock) but also remember, they don't NEED a reason to board...

No worries, and good looking out. I just put the video up to get everyone in the spring mood not battle over laws. I just can't believe how much flak I get for a name on my vessel that I pay for, and like I said there is a lot more risky names out there. If our law officers were that strict in Michigan I would find a new hobby. Anywhoo I live by dont do anything stupid and stupid things wont happen I guess I am "lucky" but most of the time there is either a sober person on the boat 2 drive home or I only have a few so the name is more of a humor thing than anything if you knew me personaly you would get it, and I understand none of you do. Again I'm on here to talk Sea Ray's not argue. Think Spring!! We all really need to get on our boats soon! :thumbsup:

Just curious what would be the reason for getting stopped for a name that has nothing profane or illegal? I could see if it was called "up in smoke" with a big pot leaf on it? Just a question. If I got pulled over for my name especially over and over, bet your bottom dollar I would file a harassment suit against the county. Last time I checked the 1st amendment is still in effect right?:huh:

Yes I'm sorry. I assumed your boat name was a play on words....like the liver disease "Cirrhosis of the liver" which is commonly related to alcoholism. That, coupled with a picture of what looks like a beer mug, might make people who don't know you think you like your drinky drinks. Around here that would be a huge red flag and give the authorities a reason to stop you.

It all depends on how 'sleepy' your town is - here in S FL, I see people doing all kinds of crazy sh*t on their boats and they rarely get looked at twice - really you just have to know the sensitive spots of your community - here, it's wake zones, safety zones around cruise ships, and the holy grail of them all, sea grass.

May God save your ass if you ground on some beach grass - I would, no kidding, walk away from my boat forever if I was hard aground on sea grass because no tow boat will touch you without first calling USCG and them fining you an insane amount of $.

But you could basically have a logo of a naked broad straddling a crack pipe on the back of your boat down here and the water cops are instead looking for mean boaters scaring the poor manatees.

The beer mug was the only thing I referred to. Didn't say it was illegal, looked bad or tacky. What I said was if you boated down here with the beer mug on your transom IMO you will be more likly to get attention or boarded.

Wes....what is the pay scale on here for a deputy? :smt043

You want to see arguments, take a look at the Honda Gen thread, Bowrider to Bimini thread, or anything that Wingless gets involved in for that matter.. I kinda dig the name (cuz I like BEER and I'm kinda clever like that) I was only commenting on the Reg #'s... Party on Wayne!!
