So, while we are on the subject of lunch.....

"Today on my way to lunch I passed a homeless guy with a sign that read
'Vote Obama, I need the money.' I chuckled.

Once in the restaurant my server had on an 'Obama 08' tie, again I
chuckled -- just imagine the coincidence.

When the bill came I decided not to tip the server and explained to
him that I was exploring the Obama redistribution of wealth concept.
I told him that I was going to redistribute his tip to someone whom I
deemed more in need -- the homeless guy outside. The server angrily
stormed from my sight.

I went outside, gave the homeless guy $5 and told him to thank the
server inside as I've decided he (the homeless guy) needed the money
more. The homeless guy was grateful.

At the end of my rather unscientific redistribution experiment I
realized the homeless guy was grateful for the money he did not earn,
but the waiter was pretty angry that I gave away the money he did
earn, even though the actual recipient needed the money more.

I guess redistribution of wealth is an easier thing to swallow in
concept than in practical application.

REDISTRIBUTION OF SOMEONE ELSE'S WEALTH, A GREAT IDEA ..............
or just a fool's game?"

I am still waiting for my Wealth Re-Distribution Check. When are they supposed to mail those out anyway? :wow:

that's a great story- I hope you don't mind that I passed it along also! The gap in the polls is getting closer- Or is that just the media trying to make up today's story!

Forgive me, but whats the difference? We will be taxed under Obama, we will be taxed under McCain. I dont make $250K so I will see a $100 difference between the two. Who ever can eliminate taxes all together will be a magician and neither candidate is proposing that. Personally, I would like to see a flat tax across the board beginning at around $35-$40K, like Forbes was trying to do.

But either way, call it Socialism, Communism, Obamanism, McCainism or whatever, this capitalistic society has always and Will always need the redistribution of wealth called taxes.

I dont like the way my taxes are being distributed now, and I wont like it then, but it is necessary.

no it's not, taxes should not be used to redistribute wealth, they should be used to defend our country, build roads, bridges, railroads etc... Not buy cell phones and give checks to people that don't work. The difference is Obama wants to increase those programs, McCain wants to eliminate them.

Redistribution of wealth, in context with current conditions in the USA sounds like a last resort. The most important subject....stimulus of business large or small, creating jobs and all the good things that go with it is getting the least emphasis.

Give me Amen Mr turtle :thumbsup:Obama wants to increase those programs, McCain wants to eliminate them

You might change your thoughts if you check out this URL. It clearly states what uncle Obama means by Redistribution of Wealth!

The entire article is here: http://www.stoptheaclu.com/archives...inner-city-children-for-them-to-go-to-school/

The continuation of the story is this:

Greg goes back to the eating establishment at a later date, and coincidentally is served by the same waiter. The waiter remembers the bitter experience of having his wealth redistributed and decides to respond by spitting in Gregs food.

Will the "wealthy" respond in simular manner when their hard earned wages are redistributed? Stay tuned...
You sadly underestimate Greg's fortitude. Knowing that the servers in that establishment espouse relieving him of much of his hard earned capital, he will avoid patronizing that place in the future, plus letting his friends know where not to go.

Greg...where is this place...I will avoid it!!

I agree but like Greg, I would rather give to those who need it instead of 7 and 8 digit, knuckle heads who make more leaving a position than I will make in my lifetime. We are already distributing wealth, currently it doesnt filter down to us here (blind statement). It will continue under either party.

I thought this country was supposed to be majority rule, but right now it is wealthy rule. And now that those less fortunate "seemingly" have a voice those that are established are getting scared, when truthfully there is nothing to really worry about. The millionaires in our govt (on both sides) will not let it get too out of hand.

The rich will continue to get richer but we on the lower end just need the jobs to keep it happening.

Great, give as much as YOU want to give and give it to who YOU want to give it to. nothing wrong with that. What I do object to is some wanker deciding for ME how much and to whom it should go to. At the same time skimming off the top as it goes by.

I just need to find a way to fit myself into the category of folks who will be receiving the redistribution...cause we want a bigger boat!

The redistribution of wealth has cost me FAR more than just my taxes this year. I personally paid for an entire home with the money I lost in the market because someone in the government decided that my tax money should go to an unqualified home buyer so they could live the American dream of owning a home that they couldn't afford. So they could get credit cards and buy stuff that they had no money for. That is where our tax dollars have gone and the cost of that is way beyond our taxes. It has brought the entire world economy to it's knees. Instead of telling the American people to live within their means, Obama tells them they have a RIGHT to live above their means and he's going to have the guy across town pay for it.

Oh, and if you think the "rich" guys are going to lie down and take in on the chin, think again. They are going to move their assets and wealth to somewhere else. Then the line of "rich" is going to have to move down in order to collect this money to pay for all of these "rights".
