How will this be different than the photo gallery thingamabob? It would be very cool to be able to embed videos right into a thread.
 
You mean like this? You can actually do it in any forum now. When making a post in the advanced editor you will see a google and youtube icon in the top right. Use those. For youtube videos copy the video ID from youtube then past it to your post, highlight it, then click the youtube icon. I have not tried the google one yet but it probably works the same way.

I have no idea what i'm doing wrong. I copy the embedded link, I paste it, I select all, click on the youtube button, I preview it and it looks fine. then I submit and I get code garbage.
