I have the Marine 4 Channel AMP and nothing is coming out of the back 4 speakers. Not sure if there is a fuse blown or what. The front speakers are no where near as loud as they should be. Looking for things to trouble shoot.

No fuses for front or rear, just the entire amp. If the amp has all 4 RCA inputs populated, check the FADE in the head unit.
Find the FRONT L&R and the REAR L&R RCA inputs and swap front to rear. Since the fronts atleast produce some sounds, lest see if the rear give some sound now with the front RCA.

If the note the speaker connections, you can swap the rear speaker leads to the front chnls and so forth.

I have fade in neutral but moved back and forth and same. Just sound from front. I will try to change front and back inputs/channels but what will that prove?

where is the AMP fuse? Is it possible I get sound from front speakers if the amp is not working?

I moved/swapped all 4 inputs and nothing changed. did not even stop the front speakers from working. That tells me the amp is doing nothing, which is what I thought. What do I check now? or just replace the amp?

Ok, if the front speakers stopped with NO RCA plugged in then the amp is working on those 2 front chnls and if the front speakers played with any combo of RCA plugged in, then all your inputs are carrying music.

So you've half an amp thats dead or 2 dead speakers. If you have an ohm meter, disconnect the speaker leads from the amp, and ohm them. Should be about 4 ohm if its a single speaker p/chnl. You can also use a 9V calculator battery to tickle the speaker wire to and listen for the speaker to crackle.

There is one other possibility...On my boat the front speakers are driven by the head unit. The 4 cockpit speakers and the sub are driven off the amp. YMMV. But I knew my amp had died when the cockpit speakers stopped but the bow speakers still played.

This was a common set up for Sea Ray in boats of our vintage. My '05 Sun Deck was set up the same way.

I believe you are correct and Amp is dead. Can I replace with any off the shelf Amp? Or does the Clarion head unit require a special Amp?

Did you ever find the fuse for the amp? If it were me, I would want to know that the amp was getting power before I pulled and replaced it. A simple check with a voltmeter would confirm there is power to the amp. If I found power, then I would be more convinced that the amp is bad. This would be good news because I could then convince the Admiral I needed to pull the trigger on something bigger and better. She's been saying the same about me for a long time. Hoping the best for you.

If im reading the test results correctly, the front speakers are playing as normal, and stop when RCAs are removed from amp.

If the info posted is correct, the amp in questions is powering the front speakers. The OP is working to find out what is powering the speakers NOT working.

Wylie, he said the front speakers did not stop working. That's what made me think he had the same set up as me, which it looks like he does. My bow speakers aren't nearly as loud as my cockpit speakers because the head unit output is so much lower.

The front speakers work but they are not amplified. Nothing comes out of the rear speakers or sub woofer. When i changed or moved the RCA cables in the amp, nothing happened. The front speakers kept working. I will check to see if the amp is getting power before I attempt to replace. And the theory is if there is power to amp, the amp is bad, correct?

On another note, my Bennett Trims are not working at all. There is no sound, clicking, there is no attempt at a pump moving hydraulics, nothing. I was told there is a fuse behind the dash that may be bad. Is there an easy way to get to that fuse from the cockpit as opposed to the closet in my 2006 250 SLX? Going through the closet is a pain and my arms are not long enough to reach all the way to front dash. There is a panel on the door that folds down but I do not see the "orange line with fuse" that is supposed to be for the Trim Tabs. I see no screws or any way to go in from the cockpit. What am I missing? My old 1994 Sea Ray 240BR gave me access to the all the controls from the cockpit. There were screws on all the panels that gave me access from the front. There are no screws on my front panels that I can see. I don't feel like just ripping it out. Any help is appreciated. I can send pictures if that would help.

I had the same issue on my 2004 when I first took delivery of it (used). It was a Clarion head unit. There is an issue with these where if they are powered down long enough (eg: batteries disconnected), then one of the settings goes back to a factory setting that will shut off the cockpit speakers. I can't remember exactly what it was, but it wasn't the fader. It was something to do with the subwoofer or low/hi pass even though I didn't have the subwoofer option. In the end, the speakers worked and the amp was fine -- it was a head unit setting. It might not be your issue, but worth checking before you go replacing hardware.

Also check your owners manual. On mine, the amp was switched on/off in the 12V DC part of the main panel. The two front/cabin speakers were powered by the head unit, but the 4 rear/cockpit speakers were powered by the 4-channel amp which also had its own gain knob.

This may be where there was a little confusion, as I wasnt clear if he pulled ALL the RCA at the same time, or simply moved them around. Either way, is somewhat irrelevant, since they work. The task is to figure whats driving the speakers that are not working.

I too have no sound from rear starboard speaker. I believe the wire may be broken. I'd like to run new wire from head unit to speaker. Anyone have some time for the best route to take? Behind the dash and then where?
