We have a new to us 2015 410 Sundancer that had dual Raymarine E125 12" MFDs (I have 2 for sale!). It also did not have Sonar which is a must in our shallow water area of SW Florida. We bought the boat knowing we would update the electronics, budgeted as part of it, so here is what we did:
- 2 x Raymarine XL 16 MFD's with Navionics cartography. They fit very well with a little cutting, easy install, no issues at all.
- Raymarine CP100 Sonar and in hull CPT-S in hull Chirp transducer.
- Raymarine AR200 Augmented Reality kit with a CAM210 camera on the hardtop. Works great on the Axioms, we love it.
- Dockmate Vector wireless remote control docking system. This is a true luxury, but it makes it much easier to single hand the boat and reduce docking stress when it's just the two of us (most of the time). The remote works flawlessly with the Zeus pods/joystick.
- Mercury Smartcraft Connect integration module. In theory, this module eliminates the need for a (tiny) Vessel View 4/Vessel View Link by bridging all of the Smartcraft data to NMEA 2000 and displaying it with a Vessel View app on the Axiom. It looks just like the Vessel View, except it's displayed on the MFDs. They say you can use one or the other, though not both. I found that if you just remove the NMEA output from the Vessel View 4 it still works at the same time, no "dead" 4" display. I'm still working out the kinks on this one with Raymarine and Mercury, as the reality is the app functions seem much more limited despite their advertising otherwise. Could just be a configuration issue though. Time will tell.
Overall, we're really happy with the upgrades. We spent the last few years with all Garmin electronics, so thought long and hard about the upgrade with Raymarine instead of moving everything to Garmin, which we're familiar with. In the end, I didn't want to replace the Raymarine Color HD open array radar and ruffle the Raymarine ecosystem that's stock on the Sea Ray, so we decided to stay with it. So far, so good.
