I don’t like this Peyton brothers thing ….. sitting at home telling me what’s going on…. I can see it… I don’t see the value add

I wish they took it to another level and really discussed the strategy and what they are seeing as the teams line up. I forget the game, but there is one from when Romo was a new broadcaster and he damn near called every single play before the ball was snapped. That's value add. It was fascinating to me and the best broadcast that I can remember. Sure Madden was great with "boom" but they always commentate like the audience has never seen a game before.

The game was painful to watch....

At the start of the season, I figured of the 3 Florida teams, that Tampa and Miami could advance into the playoffs and Jacksonville would be the doormat. Tampa never deserved to even be in them. Miami needs a healthy QB. Jacksonville.... Trevor Lawrence is playing like he did at Clemson. And Peterson has really turned the franchise around. Kind of like Campbell has turned the Lions around.

Hated that too. Felt very awkward and complete distracted from the game. Switched to the ABC broadcast and it was much better. It was with with Joe Buck, and I hate Joe Buck so that says something.

Why the hate for Joe Buck??

Joe and Troy are, by far, my favorite broadcast team.

I saw a clip of the Payton broadcast. Yikes! It was painful

The Manning brothers need to step it up and make it really interesting. Here's the clip I was referring to with Romo calling every play based on what he saw pre snap. We need more in-depth commentary like this.

Why the hate for Joe Buck? He and his dad are 2 of the best play by play announcers ever.

I actually like the Mannings, but hate the "Manning cast" on ESPN2. Tried to watch it once and couldn't stick with it. Maybe it appeals to millennials and gen Z who have very short attention spans.

I have no issue with the Mannings - it was the format that was annoying and distracting from the game.

Perhaps my intense dislike for Joe Buck is because I'm a Yankee fan. Every time Joe Buck calls a Yankee game, it's intensely obvious he has an axe to grind against them. When the team you follow is in the post-season (this is when Joe Buck will typically do the baseball play by play), you want to have a neutral or objective announcer. It makes the experience unpleasant when there are constant digs or snide remarks against your team.

Same kind of thing when TBS has the post-season baseball games. It seems the no. 1 requirement for a TBS announcing job is to hate the Yankees.

I’ll have to give Romo another chance…. I ignore the guy now but lately so many people I know are praising him.
I also think Brady is going to be a dud commentating I don’t see any personality there

.
Last night was the first time I saw the mannings commentating …… they had their faces in little boxes on the side of the screen on all the time…. It was very weird and obnoxious

That's how you know a national play by play guy is great....you think he hates your team. That's just the announcer being neutral. What you see as digs and snide remarks are just little known facts to audiences outside of New York. The last time the Cardinals were in the world series (awhile ago to be sure) everyone in St. Louis was pissed that Buck was hating on the Cards. In actuality, he was being neutral. His first job was calling Cardinals' games. Funny how that works.
