Two of the guys I work with (both engineers) have Teslas for the fact that they're gadget freaks (the guys, not the cars...). Neither of them gives a ratsass about "saving the planet", but it's crazy how much "anti-EV" sentiment is thrown their way almost daily. One of them came out of the grocery store to find his neighbor standing by his car (it's a small town) and said to him "If I had that car, I'd burn it to the ground!" Typical for him, he replied "Well, it's in my plans." So now, he's labeled as a liberal tree-hugger, which couldn't be further from the truth. How do you deal with that?
You laugh. I bust my buddy’s balls about it all the time. I call it a golf cart.

Well went past my local station today. Regular was 3.99 and diesel was 6.59. Wasn't Elon building EV tractor trailers? Seems shippers and transporters will soon be forced to EV's

Yep, a golf cart that'll do 0-60 in just over three seconds, has a top speed of 168 miles an hour, and a range of close to 400 miles. Don't get me wrong; I'm not trying to justify the thing, only stating what it can do. It's just unfortunate that it's become another political tool, just like the whole Covid mask and "vaccine" fiasco.

Well you got it half right.
I read this morning that an independent testing company found a lot of issues with Tesla self driving mode. A lot. Musk hit them with a cease and desist order, (will try to find it again).
So the self proclaimed free speech advocate is a hypocritical jerk.
I won’t do Tesla, PayPal, SpaceX, or Twitter or anything else that puts a dime in that asshole pocket.
Found it, it’s behind a pay wall so no sense posting the link…

Odd isn't it - a capitalist that employs tens of thousands of people and actually produces things that lead the class. Someone that did it and flipped off a bought president with a well-paid non-union workforce. How about a guy that is going to take battery technology to the next technology level. Someone that pretty much single-handily revolutionized the space launch industry. Someone that is providing internet access to remote locations that had no chance to modern education until Starlink. Someone that has committed to migrate humans off this planet within most of our lifetimes. Someone that saw how a single company could influence our elections and decided to do something about it. People that work for one of his companies are expected to work and work long hard hours and contribute to the "vision". These are ethics lost in a lazy blue ribbon for everyone nation that we have.
I've met the guy, a couple of times at events, he is an odd sort but now I'd expect little else knowing he doesn't care about present time discussions. I really despised the egotism and arrogance instilled in his workforce but I can't argue with the business model and the success story. I'll say that now I'm a bit recalibrated to the drive and vision. There are parallels to the hard-core capitalists (Ford, Rockefeller, Morgan).
But maybe you are right, we need to be tiptoeing fairies sprinkling promise dust on an entitled workforce and conform to the media's vision.

Put a US Flag sticker on it, a blue lives matter or if he’s Christian put a fish on it. We enjoy our Subaru but we seem to get tailgated by some of the locals in large pickups at times. It’s usually on a Friday or Saturday evening on the way home from dinner. I’m sure there’s a few beers in them and they think we’re liberally ill.

Well, it looks like Musk's "shoot first, aim later" strategy is working exactly like you would expect. The odds of a Twitter self-destruction are now getting higher and higher. Musk has bitten off more than he has time to chew.

We'll see how this plays out. There is absolutely no way that he has had time to sort out the riff raff from the core of the business. And ultimatums like what he has given (getting employees to sign an electronic declaration they are signing up for long hours without being clear on what the benefit is for the employees other than a threat that the business may not survive if they don't...) sends the BEST employees to the exits, not the worst. The high performers have options and are highly mobile.

It sends the dems and the snowflakes to the exits…. Where are the supposed elites going?… Facebook?…. Seems like a mass exodus there too.

Talk about a generalization. So all remaining Twitter employees will be Republicans? And there are no high performing republican software engineers that will say "F-this. I have lots of places to work." And leave? But this has F-all to do with what political leanings the employee base has. There are far too many people that believe that 100% of peoples life decisions are dictated by what box they select when the vote. Its just not true.

IMO, he is too stretched thin, and too autocratic to delegate the decisions. Anyway, you and I can disagree until either Twitter thrives, or fails under his leadership.

I don't pretend to know where Musk or Twitter will end up. I'm not an expert on either. In fact, I'm not on Twitter, nor do I have any kind of presence on any other social media.

But Musk has been around for a long time. If his initial attempts don't succeed, he has a compelling history of very successful pivots.

Either way, prior to him buying it, Twitter was little more than a Leftist propaganda machine. I doesn't hurt my feelings to see that torpedoed. I give him credit for recognizing how harmful Twitter had been to America, and putting his own fortune and reputation on the line to correct it.

Now, if we could just get something done about Farsebook and Google.
