Oh I’ve been out in those 4 footers and then some in my SR as well, but it doesn’t mean I want to go out in those conditions.

Just keep the bow up and you’ll be fine.

You would not be the first to underestimate Lake Michigan. Those “4 footers” were overtopping both sea walls into the channel and occasionally the lighthouse. NOAA was calling waves 17-24 on the lake when this was taken. However, I’m sure you know what you are talking about.
Chesapeake Bay, not Lake Michigan. Those lakes get crazy, while the Bay gets rough, it won’t sink freighters.

I don't remember for sure when but those two pics I put up are the result of a big storm that hit the east coast some years ago. That's what the news at the time was saying about them. I don't think it was as far back as Sandy, since that I think.

Let me get some plywood and fire up my Honda generator and I'll be good to go.
Don’t forget to take your pet pig along for the ride.

I don't take my boat out in rough water. It called pleasure boating for a reason. It's not much pleasure get beat by the high waves.
