Tomorrow be 73 Sunny. Next week in 50’s. My local down river Tiki Bar last day tomorrow for the season. “Drink the tiki dry” party. Suggested to wife let’s take the zodiac down river and partake. She’s all in. Should be a great time. Probably be last ride.

Make the most of it !

I will keep running into November, weather-permitting (it will still be 60F on Nov 1)

But today we have yet ANOTHER small craft advisory

It can be warm in afternoon. I go out early morning when too cold. No speed limit on Middle River during the week and after 11am the big boats come out and I don’t feel safe out there. Too many boats blasting around might not see a small zodiac. I try to hug shoreline but not always possible. So even though weather permits me to continue, safety won’t.

Safety first. Besides, I am so busy dealing with all aspects of retirement it’s crazy. Have little time for boat. People think, I’ll retire. NO! They don’t suddenly send you money. That life insurance the company paid for? Pension? SSA application? Consolidate all those 401s you have scattered all over the planet? Retirement- welcome to being very busy on phone for long time.
And this time of year dealing with a boat on blocks, winterize, etc.
No complaining, beats working. I should write a Retirement for Dummies book. But I got no time to write it.

Heart attack motivated me to consolidate all five 401Ks I had scattered. I didn't want my wife to have to clean all that up if there is a next one.

NOPE! Not today…
...SMALL CRAFT ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT FROM 11 AM THIS MORNING TO 2 AM EDT SUNDAY... WHAT...South winds 10 to 15 kt with gusts up to 25 kt expected.

Got lucky this morning. Calm seas, wind 5 knots, 50F and sunny. 10 mile ride out to Grape Island. I figured out my trim issue and picked up another 3 mph

You'll have more nice days!

We went and inflated it, lost air due to cold nights air compression. Sunny every day next week. Plan to be out a lot next week. Spent most of days this week dealing with retirement issues. That settled down, boat all done for winter, so time getting free.

What was it? Mine is trimmed all way down and when get running the bow really comes up high. They sell fixed plastic trim tabs that bolt to transom, thinking of adding those to get the bow down. Literally can’t see in front when over 1/2 throttle.

I was thinking of taking the 506 out for a final cruise but I thought better to not risk it. So far, other than the little Genny trouble shooting issue, the sale has gone very smoothly. I will just reminisce about the few fun cruises we did with the old girl and move on. You all enjoy the last couple of early autumn weekends out on the water.
Cheers

Carpe, smart move. I always had the take, once it’s for sale it belongs to the buyer. Whoever that may be. God forbid something major goes wrong prior to sale.
You did right thing. Once decide to sell, cut it loose.

PS. Leaving marina today (we always check on zodiac and boat every other day if not every day) wife says”want to sell house and get a live aboard”? Talk about blind sided. Wont happen. Definitely not on a Sundancer or maybe even a SeaRay. If I do a LAB it’s going to be a trawler. Not Maryland, no ice piers in winter.

Wise decision, keep her in the slip, I did that with my last boat and almost regretted it.

Somebody got paid a lot of money to write that book. I always read them, usually a week or two after using the product when I run out of current material in the throne room.

You missed out on a great day on the bay yesterday. Went up the Chester and anchored out for the day, bbq'd with friends and now going to St. Michael's next weekend. Went to Inner Harbor last weekend for the Ravens game. Can't shut the door on the last month of nice boating.
