New Tender -- I Am Hooked

I can’t find the walker bay 325 in stock anywhere. They all claim that walker isn’t making it.

I found a one year old walker bay 310 ultra light for sale. Thinking about going to look at it, but it’s a five hour drive away.
Where is it at? Maybe someone on here can put a quick eye on it for you.

5 hours. One way? Just get something local. New with warranty. Not like your going looking at a deal on a SR. It’s an inflatable.

I think you are right. That's got to be a recent (2022) change. I notice on Walker Bay's website they 325 is no longer there.

The next closest thing to the 325 from Walker Bay is the 11LTE. It's a tick heavier but a lot sexier, in my opinion. I saw one in real life while shopping and wanted it...badly. The extra weight and cost were the reasons I favored the 325 over the 11LTE...

Man, I can't find these things locally.

The closest walker bay dealer to me is the one in VA. In my area, if it's not fishing related, it's not available.

We're taking the tender to a river that's about 100 mi away from us. Since we're staying at an inn nearby, I tried to get a transient slip at the marina.

They asked how big the boat, and I said 10 feet but I'm happy to pay the rate for the full slip.

She said sorry, minimum 20 feet and we don't do dinghies.

So even if I paid for 20, they wouldn't rent it

Can you just tie to a bulkhead, a ladder, a pole? Leave on grass and push in water?

I did find an out of the way boat launch on the map. Should be interesting!

Looks like wife and I be doing same. Had big plans all month to cross bay tomorrow to our favorite tiki bar. To see our favorite Jimmy Buffet style band. Got a text from marina, don’t bother coming, every slip full.
Dammit. We did same on July 4, but got overnight slip at $90 even though we only used it for 5 hours. Figured I’d save money this holiday, didn’t book, took chance on the few transient day slips they have. Already taken. Live and learn.

We took the zodiac and Suzuki down river Saturday or was it Sunday, days all run together now that retired. Anyway wife had a great time, was her suggestion. Let’s just jump in zodiac. We were on 2nd beer be time we would have done the canvas and lines on the yacht. She loved it, been long time, she would not go on previous one cause of all the problems.
Doing same Saturday.

Early run in the fog -- got my nav lights now. The all-around white light is on top of the OB out of view.

Well I had to do it. The 6hp Merc is now on the stand, replaced by the Merc 9.9

It will do 15 mph at half throttle which is plenty fast in this boat since it will plane at 11

Best of all, the 9.9 has the shift integrated into the twisting part of the tiller so I can shift from the middle seat with the tiller extension in place. No need to jump up and work the shift lever.

That's my favorite part of the Merc 9.9...

It is. The picture is kinda deceiving ....

That is the end of the clear hose. When you unravel it, I'd say the hose is 3 feet long which is enough to pump out over the sides. But you can thread on another garden hose if you need more.

I carry it with me just in case. I've never taken on enough water (from stuffing waves) where I need to run it, but I do use it to pump out if I left the boat uncovered and I have standing water.

Also loving the feature where you can drop the tiller below horizontal. Very cool!

Being a 2-cyl it is a lot smoother than the 1-cyl 6 hp

Of course, my new problem is -- it's too heavy for the stern so even at the highest trim setting, it's really still trimmed in :(

You are killing me!!! Our water is that flat, my zodiac needs air, cold temperatures. I broke the adapter from foot pump to zodiac. Ordered a new one from Defender. Will arrive tomorrow.
