The start of fall boating

Here's what the start of fall boating looks like for us:

Thinking about working from the boat this afternoon and getting the oil changes knocked out. Gonna go fast now...forecast for next week looks like garbage.

All that is done on mine. Filled up and pumped out last week. Just need to empty the fresh water. Going to head out for an hour or so this afternoon to burn off a little gas so I'm not super full for storage. For all practical purposes, stick a fork in it. I'm done.

Because of the rack structure, only two boats fit in each bay between the I-bar girder supports. I request that my boat is away from the girder enough that I can run a polisher which they accommodate. It's a great facility to be able to do off season maintenance. There are jetskis, dinghies and other items tucked in here and there, but my area is kept clear since I go in there regularly to work. The boats that are stored on the main floor are packed in bow to stern with rub rails nearly touching. Eventually, there will likely be a boat broadside a few inches away from my swim platform where the trailer now sits.

That is a dreamlike setup for winter as far as I'm concerned! You're a lucky man.

As many of you know we sold our 550DB a little over a year ago so we've been off the water since then. Until yesterday. A neighbor couple just bought a 'toon and invited us out yesterday. We spent about 4 hours on the river with them and the only downside to that is it's gonna take me at least 2 days to wipe the smile off my face!

Last sunday was our final dunk of the year, we are warm weather boaters, when the water temp starts dropping where it is not fun to get in we are done. Had 6 of our 9 grands able to come for one last swim for the season. It was warm and windy, 98 degrees, water temp was down to 75, we just played, my son pulled the littles around on a tube with his jetski, but too windy to ski or knee board, just a fun final trip. Boat is back in the shop ready to be winterized, one of the fuel filters I need is backordered until October sometime, so will hold off until I get everything I need. Summer went FAST We will for sure do some fall camping though, as well as we have a little trip to the smokey mountains in Tennessee in a few weeks we are looking forward to.
