So let's hear about and see your cars.

I always loved that RX7. Wanted to buy one after my 3rd 300ZX for a change of pace and went on a test drive. Loved the car but it was just too tight for me for a daily driver.

Mine was a 1991. Yes it was like driving a truck. Need a butt massage after a long trip. Ended up selling it after it only had 7500 miles. But that was because our kids were very young and I did not drive it much.

Ken
Just drove my 91 on a two hour trip yesterday. My gel type seat cushion makes all the difference. Love the way it drives.

I remember as a stupid college kid taking my Dad's 1966 Ferrari 275 GTS to 145 in 3rd gear - back end still squatted down, two more gears to go - and I WISELY chickened out!

I think they only made ~180 of them - 3.3 liter V12 with (only) 260 HP. I don't know how they did it, but my goodness, it sounded great. I wish I had it today!

Sounds like somebody was watching Risky Business and had delusions of grandeur he was ol’ Tom himself!

="Jus Cruisin, post: 1354914, member: 65166"]So all this talk about cars is bad..... o_O Looking at some used Zl1 Camaros..... Wife thinks I'm nuts. I don't like walking out in the garage and seeing an Explorer and F150..... Boring.... I'm thinking the Explorer needs to get booted. We'll see what happens over the next week or two.[/QUOTE]
Go for the gusto…if your going to get in trouble, go big.
This is for sale on the Corvette Forum for a mere $88K.

I wish I never sold this 1994 Mazda RX7. These were a two rotor Wankel twin turbocharged engine and light weight. This one was prepped by M2 (known in the rotary world) to their 450HP Stage III. I hardly ever drove it except for some track events and some local shows. Sold it in 2019. They are selling for major dollars now.... Always liked this car. The engine, while revolutionary, was the soft sport. They never quite solved the oil burn problem, although with today's technology, there has to be a way to fix that issue.

Actually, there was an oil injection pump on all rotary engines so they were designed to burn oil. They simply couldn't meet emissions changes. Each rotor housing had an oil injection nozzle. They converted this one to a separate oil container for that injection pump rather than using crankcase oil. Yamalube 2 stroke oil was used in the tank. The oil was to lubricate the rotor apex seals.

Ok. Did not know that. How often did you need to add oil?

I don't think I added oil but two or three times; it held a quart. The oil injection was progressive based upon engine load.

I had a Mazda Cosmo, I think it was a '76. Snazzy little car, I liked it but the Wankel couldn't handle the cold temps, hard starting. Got rid of it after one winter.

Those little cars are selling for insane amounts of money. They were something like $2000 new.

More than I thought! The Gen 3 RX7's in the early 90's were over $30K. My Gen 3 was well optioned and $34,900. Part of the reason not many were sold.
I don't remember much about mine, it was high end swank inside, pretty peppy, and the engine looked like you could just pick it up and carry it away if it had a handle.

Mine is a Alpina B7. In my opinion close to a perfect car balancing speed, luxury and sportiness.
