Mercruiser 4.3 with Alpha Drive 1

We’re getting used to our “new” boat and using the ladder for the swim platform makes me nervous. I’m not a lightweight (240lbs) and am wondering how much the platform can handle.

I’ve been wondering if adding SS struts on either side would be advised or not? Has anyone done this?

262 Mercruiser w/ Alpha I Gen 2 Drive

I weigh more and haven’t had issues with the ladder on our 04 185 whatever that is worth. They appear to be pretty strong.
