Unfortunately my vacuflush is clogged and I can't figure it out. Happened right after a number 2 with toilet paper. I've taken apart the pump and nothing seems to be clogged there. Duckbills are
New and clean. I've tried a plunger with no success as well as taking the toilet out to see if I could feel something with my hands. The next step I can think of is a plumbing snake as I'm assuming the clog is in the line between the toilet and the first duckbill before the pump. Any ideas guys?

I used to take a garden hose right down the toilet with the vacuum pump on and use a rag to seal the hose off. I did this twice and it worked. I don't know what grandma ate but it clogged it.

Some boiling hot water worked on ours. Flush it into the hose the best you can. The hose will expand some and the water will break down the clog. Now I add head lub after every pump out. A water jet will also do the trick

Thanks guys. I ended up getting it with a drain snake after removing the entire toilet to get it to make the first curve in the hose. What a pain in the butt. Both the garden hose and boiling water are good ideas I wish I tried first!

We have never had problems. If it does not come out of you it does not go in toilet. Toilet paper goes in a garbage pail in each head. We inform all guests if they plug up the system they get use the rail on the bow as a toilet seat. Seems to worked for 17 years. We also flush the system from the head with warm water once a week.

A little late now, but next time use a dinghy foot pump. Turn water off, put hose in hole firmly so it will not leak and pump about 4 to 5 times. Release slowly. Try flushing, Works every time for me.

Ideal for next time...

Shop Vac! Go to the pump and disconnect the hose that leads from the toilet, connect the shop vac and turn it on.

^haha!

After multiple times where kids and guests clogged things up - I made the attached sign and laminated it so it is visible on the wall opposite where you sit to do your business.
For my vacuflush head. I've made a different sign..it says number 2's are strictly forbidden, number 1's only.
I make sure everyone is advised to use the very nice and clean marina facilities before boarding.
No exceptions. Myself included.

Cool sign. May do something similar. Don’t people leave paper in the head if they follow it? I think you are missing a flush!

By the time they sit and see the sign, it’s too late. Nature senses the squat, it’s coming.

I always instruct everyone to use the marina RRs, typically the head is reserved for the ladies. Including me, IMO the head is for trips and overnighters on The Office. There are only a few pump outs, we have to travel for those, so we generally take the "three mile ride".

Precisely. Plan ahead.

There's pages here with boat owners having issues with their vacuflush toilets. Many of that seems to be from passengers throwing all manner of things in there or perhaps leaving their number 2 business to make a clog. Of course, they leave it to the boat owner to deal with it and they go on their merry way afterwards.
As part of my boarding procedure, guests are apprised of safety rules, PFD 's and the very nice marina facilities across the street available for #2 usage prior to departure.
I consider that a reasonable request in exchange for a wonderful 3 hour sunset cruise that is of no cost to them, cocktails, champagne and finger food included. In an emergency, I will gladly pull into one of the numerous dock and dine bar/restaurants along the way.
As a result, my vacuflush is always in tip top condition and worry free.
