Just an observation, but here at the Jersey shore the marinas are full of boats in the slips but darn few are being taken out for cruises, fishing etc as in years past.
Just this evening (Friday 6/17) there normally would have been a plethora of boats in the Shark River inlet positioned to watch the gorgeous sunset along with the patrons of the marina bars, but tonite I was the only one.
And the weather was perfect.
This is not just this evening's observation but it's been like this for several weeks now.
I can only surmise from some of the conversations with other boat owners is that the price of fuel has completely discouraged many from enjoying their boats.
Anybody else seeing the same?
