500/520 DB official thread

I would suggest having this done. I would think you want to have the boat show it's best..
Agreed. If we decide to move forward, it will be done.

It will literally be turn key as everything is in tip top shape.

Looks like my pump for the bridge AC is leaking. Anyone know a part number for replacement?

Thanks,
Tim

Replaced the whole pump last year and then ordered the wet end kit to have a spare. The pumps wet end was leaking..

Perfect! Thanks for snapping a pic. I won't be at the boat for a week or so. I'll get that ordered.

Tim
The pump curve needs to be correct for our DB's due to the height of the bridge. Want to try to be in the middle of the curve to account for losses in the line length and bends. For example the HVAC unit inlet is about 15 feet above the pump discharge so try to have a maximum head rating of around 30 feet so you get the correct flow.
For example here in the first curve on the March 5A pump you can see the flow at the bridge is reduced to about 11 GPM and that doesn't consider bends and routing of the hose. In the second curve for the March 3CP pump the flow is only 4 GPM which would essentially be a trickle at the end of the hose. So I would choose the 5C between these two. However, there are many pumps so do the research.

Looking for a clean 500/52/520 DB in the Mid-Atlantic-Northeast area. Anyone thinking of selling or know of one that's getting ready to be listed?

Gimme Time was talking about it…

Having issues with ice maker in the freezer. It’s not producing. Wondering if sediment has clogged inlet. Is there a filter on the back side?

Ran through the jumper setting and got it to harvest just fine. What would prevent it from harvesting?

Mine will occasionally freeze up as water exists the tube into the grid. I would thaw it out with a heat gun or hair dryer.

Anchoring questions - Dual Multi Function Display’s and the Ignition switches

1) At ANCHOR do you guys keep both display’s ON throughout the weekend?
- I like to keep a display ON so the anchor alarm can warn us.
- Ideally, I would like to turn ONE display off while on the hook and then even alternate displays from one trip to the next to balance the run time of the two displays.

- however; with the Garmin 8616 to sync all the settings between the two displays we set them up as a system. So, if I turn one display off/on the other display turns off/on automatically.

2) Watching fuel level and consumption while on anchor.

——If the two ignition switches are left in the ON position my Vessel View system stays ON and I can track fuel levels. This is not necessary but I would like to monitor generator fuel usage while on the hook for a long weekend.

- Does leaving that ignition ON have any negative affects on the ignition or system?

Where are you?

Those pics were in Exuma over Christmas. We flew in. Just included them for fun… hopefully we will head that way by boat Dec 2023

In regards to your first question I like to leave my Garmin on but like stated they both end up staying on. Recently tried putting it in sleep mode. By doing this I'm able to wake the screens with the grid 20 which I have down in the salon. I ran an HDMI to my salon tv so i can view and control one of my Garmin's from there. This is a new setup from this winter that I've only used once but so far so good.

How much do our props weigh?
Looking online at Federal propeller in my size I am guessing around 110-120lbs. I have moved mine around a few times and that seems about right.
