Golf Carts….. If you have one let’s see it

Too cool….I am doing new seats and roof this winter
Well from what I understand, your gonna have to find matching back seats for the admiral.
And just an FYI, they do make a nice extended, insulated, fiberglass top with a sky light.
Oh, do you have a cover for it for when you leave it on the island?

Hell ya a really cool one….

You guys that can take these on your dock are very lucky. We can have them for the parking lot but park services does not let any motorized gas or electric anything on the dock other than AirMarks carts.
Our slip is 1/4 mile from the parking lot and that is if you get a parking spot up close. AirMark does have a porter service 8am to 6pm and it is free to the slip owners + a good tip.

I almost pulled the trigger on one for the parking lot but haven't done it yet. We will see this season as they moved the main launch ramp for Bullfrog over to the slip parking lot so it will be a shit show forsure this year for parking and if you get there late on a friday you have about another 1/4 mile walk or more to just the dock walkway.

Were you crying at the end of that post?…..that is so sad…. I wouldn’t walk a 1/4 mile any where

Actually I want to hear from @Brent Nutting right now….. he use to walk over a bridge over a road to get to his slip….now he drives up to his slip

Yes.

I do work the system . When we are 40 minutes out I have all the porters cells on had and text them our eta. We usually have one waiting for us when we pull in as they know we bring extra fresh produce for them and a $40 tip or more depending on our load.

At the north end of the lake they have very very limited groceries and they only get to grand junction once a month if they are lucky to stock up. Fresh Fruit and veggies is better than giving these kids free alcohol.

That completely changes if we dont leave slc by 3pm as we will miss them after 6pm unless I sweeten the tip to be $100 then one will stay as late as our ETA.

Damn….why?….is that your only option or do you have too much money?….. I get it sort of ….I have friends with too much money that gives $100’s to dock hands ….. but my friend already has seniority….. what ever …..my thing is tip appropriate if it doesn’t work …..don’t go there any more

And just to add because I am getting pissed off….. there isn’t one of the dock hands …..ever that AFTER I tipped him I didn’t had to re tie his lines and adjust fenders…..that is what really pisses me off

Yep, at previous marina, you could grab a wagon for your stuff and walk over the bridge or they offered a golf cart ride right up to your slip. That was nice.
Now, I have a drive up slip which I am really enjoying. No more worrying about rain when I get to the marina and getting our stuff wet getting to the boat However, I have been looking at golf carts for the new marina. Man you can spend a good amount on one, when you look at all the fun modifications.

Ya you suck at timing….worst time ever to buy a golf cart…. Just think like it’s 4 tanks of diesel but in the end you still have it

Why ?

Because I choose to. These kids are good hands and will go out of there way for anything I need or help. Don't get me wrong there are some that aren't worth giving a dollar to as they do a shitty job. I pick the ones that " want it" they are there doing a shitty summer job to make money for school or they are ones that make a difference around the marina all year long.

I can call any of the ones that I deal with and they will go to our boat anytime of day or night to check on the boat when we are not at the lake and they wouldn't ask for anything from me. One of them runs our engines during the winter months 3x a month for 40 minutes just to keep everything working correctly and he doesn't ask for a dime to do it. I have a couple that wash the boat weekly that i gladly pay $50.00.

These people get paid $15.00 a hour, live in dorm housing that is 25 years old and well used and a cafeteria that for better lake of words is just belly fill for food. Yes they are choosing to live here however if I can show them that if they work hard and do above average job that you will be compensated for attitude, commitment, and pride in your work ethic.

Over 30 years of being at the lake I have either employed at least ten of them at our company or have gotten them jobs at friends companies. These are the ones the " want it" the ones that dont want it I really dont give them the time of day.

Overall to understand Bullfrog Lake powell on the north end you really have to see it to understand it.

I can't imagine being at MacRay without a golf cart, but if I was thinking about getting one right now I would wait awhile. They're almost more over priced than boats are right now. I bought mine in 2019 for $3,500. I've probably put maybe 300.00 more into it and could probably sell it right now for 7,000 or more. It's crazy
