Received Buffalo Video

Apparently from your first reply the “parishioner” took out the gunman. I’m assuming he was armed, so there’s your answer. At least arm the teachers for fuck sakes
Yes, he was dullard. Churches are not GUN FREE ZONES in Texas. You're learning...

Oh and a moment of silence at every sporting event.. Steve Kerr’s interview was bang on
He's a damn basketball coach. He should stick to sports....and they wonder why they are losing viewers...

No honestly I didn’t know schools were gun free zones. Maybe you guys should arm the teachers and principles tho so your poor children are safe?

I am 100% behind that. in fact Oklahoma started arming teachers a few years ago. It is voluntary not mandatory, and the teachers have to go through firearms training. The left fought hard against it because guns are evil.

I wasn't proposing any specific laws, just asking when is it OK to even have the discussion. EVERYTIME we have one of these we are told by the right that it's "not the right time to talk about changes, that's political"
EVERYTIME. Am i wrong about that?
I suppose the right time to get political is when the bodies are still warm, as Biden chose, and then make jokes about deer in kevlar vests.o_O

Don’t disagree with you there! I hate basketball anyway. But the man is right. Anyway, I pray something like this never happens to any of you, but I just wonder if your mindset would change if it was your child. If you didn’t feel safe sending your child to school.

Well that’s good, and clearly that’s what needs to be done. Personally think it should be mandatory. Why wouldn’t a teacher want to be able to protect their 20 students? Then again they probably didn’t sign up to be a soldier as well

I have school age kids, do you? I have zero concerns. And I didn't listen to the man. But how'd the gunman just walk right into the school though? I have to get buzzed in when I pickup my kids...

A few years ago, I testified at our statehouse to change the law in Indiana to make it legal to leave a gun in your car on school property - what have you done to improve things in your country?!

The way the law WAS written, you'd be breaking the law parking in the school parking lot with gun in your car - 300 feet from the door. But 25 feet away on the street was legal.

Based on your comments - you don't know the law. That's one thing about gun people...we know the laws of our state and those we travel to...

I want to know how he walked in a school. The schools around me are locked down hard.... I couldn't get in one time and I had 3 kids in that school.... that was after I walked past 2 cops

This x2!!! And both @Blueone and I live in very safe (and Republican areas)...

UCS where my kids go is the same way. My wife had to go through extensive background checks to even volunteer there. All doors are locked, you can only get buzzed through the main entrance, after you show ID. Even then you have to be on their approved visitor list. I feel perfectly safe with my kids school even with the oxford incident not far from here.

I dont know the specifics of what went on in texas, but no way should he have been able to just walk in an unsecured door

Listen man, right away you’re assuming I’m against guns and laws blah blah blah, politics whatever. I’m not that guy lol.

All I’m saying is America is clearly doing something wrong. And no I don’t have kids yet, but the fact I’m almost in tears watching the news and seeing pictures of these poor children probably says enough of the type of person I am.

I’m glad you believe you are changing your country tho, good on you. Im not quite sure how that law you fought for would of helped in this shooting tho. I mean I guess a teacher could of ran out to their car, got the gun and took out the gunman. At least the gunman may of only killed 10 instead of 21? It’s a start

So I’m just asking.. not trying to start an argument or anything. If a crazy gunman wanted to enter your kids school, there is no way? Like every door is locked and they couldn’t barge through the front doors. Honest question

Can't change federal law in the Indiana statehouse. As I said earlier - this isn't a gun issue. It's a lack of value of human life... until that's fixed this will continue...

The current administration in DC has a hard on for guns... this will continue to ramp up...

Ah. You do know it all, don't you? I suppose there was too much gun restriction in...Texas? Yeah?

You're not that bright @Cdillerud, are you? Here it is again...why these keep happening in schools...

Correct - all doors are locked and we have a school resource officer at each school.

It'd be wise to harden schools vs continue to give money to Ukraine... but what do I know...:rolleyes:

Every exterior door is a steel entry door with no windows. The main door has windows but not big enough for a human to fit through. Cameras all around the place. Id imagine the cops would already be responding before the building was even breached. You’d literally have to drive a car right through the front of the place. Distance from my kids school to SH police department, 3 miles.

Crazy, clearly that Texas school is doing something wrong then and should be held accountable

Same…. I wasn’t registered so they wouldn’t buzz me in from outside… if you do make it in you are in a small box with a window to the office and a small opening to talk thru… no door to get in the school

I get raped in taxes every year but never get a say to where my money is wasted. Should be one armed police office in every school in this country. Dont tell me we cant afford it. We can waste Billions on foreign countries for politicians pet projects we can afford this

Agree, absolutely anything and everything should be done to protect the children regardless of cost

We had two incidents when my kids were in high school. One student killed his neighbor and another raped a girl …both off school property. The thing is all the students knew there was something wrong with the two boys for years….and I assume so did the teachers and guidance counselors…. Somehow we need to get that link figured out

I think that’s a hard one that may never truly be solved. I remember kids in high school like that too… always knew something was wrong with them, but I don’t think you can just pull them out and say hey you’re missing a few wires here go get help..

Unfortunately, some people are just wired wrong and always will be
