Daylight Saving Time

I like the late sun but read an article today how standard time is healthier because it’s more in tune with our natural body clock. Sun in the morning to get going and dark earlier to help sleep. Study showed people living on he western edges of time zones had higher rates of cancer and other ailments. I’m retired so not much difference to me either way.

Well having kids walking to school in the dark is a problem (sunrise will be 8:15 here in the northeast in December/Jan). Especially since no one shovels their sidewalk. DST 12 months a year is going to be a major problem. I've never understood why people get their pants in a bunch about changing the clocks. FWP.

Kids around here don't even walk to the bus stop.... They are all in mommy or daddy's vehicles waiting for the bus.

Cuzz it sux. Somewhere, someone, has stats on commuting accidents this causes twice a year.

This was really popular and was tried in the 70’s, it quickly was not popular and it was repealed. Those that do not know history are doomed to repeat it…
I will be fine either way, but I really can’t find a downside to having an extra hour of light in the evening.

50 years ago. The world is significantly different now.

I do not believe time and sunlight have changed. The same type of folks that cannot think problems through answer polls they do not want to change clocks but want the late sunsets of DST. Then when December rolls around a few years with near 9:00 AM sunrises they begin to change their tune and want to go back to changing clocks.

I understand your sentiment, but, as I mentioned back in post #75, having the sun up later in the evening is more of a concern for me than what I might lose in the morning. As it sits now with MST, due to my work schedule, I never see the sun on either end of the day, so having a little extra light in the evenings would help with my winter blues.

It is true you cannot work more hours than there are hours of daylight and have daylight after work. LOL

The problem with individual states changing would be network TV scheduling. They'd have to figure out a way to to keep normal viewing times. Florida passed the year around dst 3 years before I moved north and was signed by Rick Scott the governor at the time.

People from the Seattle area have been bitching about permanent DST because they say they won't have sunup until 0900 in the winter. Hell, they don't get sunup at all that time of year because of the constant rain.
Do any of the freeloading libtards in Seattle even get out of bed before 9:00 AM?

Aren't we already over the devastating effects of day light savings time..... OMG!!!.. everyone had to get up an hour earlier.....did everyone survive?.... obviously the dead can't answer.. so buddy system would help here

Heck yes! They need to get up early to catch the morning news to find out how successful the "peaceful demonstrations" were in terms of how many buildings were burned, how many murders there were, etc.

After all, BLM, ANTIFA and all the other fun social groups do their best work at night.

Still suffering DST lag. Had to take a nap today. The horrors.
