That's a good question as I was surprised at the Wi-fi issues I found. I could not get a decent wifi connection for almost the whole trip (my permanent ship based one or my laptop) and ended up plugging in my BlackBerry and using the EV-DO stuff from Verizon. Even then, it was really slow because everyone was using it also.

We were at one marina (I think it was Nantucket) and I saw the wifi access point and the antennas were folded down on each other which explained the lousy connection. I asked the dock office about it and they said they did that to limit the range... well... it broke the whole system IMO...

I got by though..
 
Great Job Gary.....

My morning coffee at work will just not be the same. I'm sure it took a lot of work and time, but the documented memories will be awesome. I know you just got back, but will you take a trip like that again or was that a one time trip north? I'm sure we would all like a summary as the best ports of call, the most dissapointing ports of call, best marinas, worst marinas, etc.

other than the weather conditions you experienced, is there anything that you would have done different, ports of call, length of stay, etc???
 
Yeah... I have a few things... Like renting a jeep in Nantucket is pointless... Maybe I should write up another entry...
 
Gary...That would help us all that cruise these waters.......Places you would go back to....Places you would not go back to......Marinas you would go back to......Marinas you would not go back to......Was there a hidden gem.....Most pet friendly.......I am trying to schedule a week in September and would like to get some helpful info west of buzzards bay....

Getting some nice seats in the audience is one thing.....but a booking as a guest ....that's a whole 'nother story

Dom, if you think it's too hard or that your contacts aren't good enough, just never mind...
 
I will confess that I was a little concerned when I got to Letterman and was escorted in to our "special place" that maybe... just maybe... the pooper scooper episode or something would have come up in the show... which would have resulted in a divorce...
