Fresh Water Pump Recommendation?

Hi All,

I have 2 fresh water Jabsco Par-Max3 pumps @ 3.5 GPM (plumbed in parallel, I run them both at the same time). I have had them 6-7 years. They have been ok. A bit noisy, which I actually like as I know when they are running, but ok. I had a pressure switch go bad on one this past weekend, and prior to that, I was having a hard time bleeding all the air out of these pumps. I'm wondering if this is a sign of internal failure or a pending one. As I am contemplating a repair, I'm thinking it might be time to just replace both pumps and be done with it?

Anyone have any recommendations on fresh water pumps? Other comments?

Thanks
Larry

I had an accumulator in all previous boats, its a must. Until I got this one. SR engineers put a real short run between tank, pump, bulkhead, that there is no room to install one one without a major reroute of plumbing. So I live with the dam pulsing.

I already have an accumulator tank. I changed out the small one for the large one a while ago. They do make a difference.

These things are the shizzle! Unlike a traditional on/off pressure switch like we're used to, this pump is a variable speed unit which reacts to a drop in pressure (like when you open a faucet) by speeding up in attempts to maintain the set pressure. No accumulator needed! I have one in my RV, and will be installing the same in the boat.
