I may be AWOL for a few weeks.

Mike, I love hwy 93.
I went to AZ last January, and was following another car at one point doing 100mph.
The other car slowly pulled away from me.
You can make really good time that way, lol.
Have a good trip.

I don't know about some of you guys. After years of marriage your wives should understand that a manly man has stuff, that's just the way it is.
Indeed, just the manly man stuff continually gets scrunched over to a corner when you’re not looking.

We're now in Boise, about 4.5 hours (290 miles) from home. Nice trip, relaxing and beautiful scenery. Once we got to Ontario, OR we got into fairly heavy traffic on an 10 lane freeway ( 5each way). Lunch was at the DQ in Pendleton (the only drive in we could find) and dinner tonight at Joe's Crab Shack.

The hotel is spectacular. It's the Riverside Hotel. We've stayed here 2 or 3 times before and will stay here on the way back.

Next stop is Provo, UT. It's about 5.5 hours away and that will be the longest day. Total mileage for the trip is 1315. Tomorrow night we'll be just over half way there. From then on it's all downhill.

Nighty nite.

Too bad I didn't catch that you were going through Blase' or I would have directed you to what are arguably the best finger steaks. West Side Drive-in. https://westsidedrivein.com/ down on State Street.

Hi JC, thanks for the offer but we won't be in your neck of the woods until about dinner time. We're still relaxing here at the hotel and won't likely be out of here until 10:30 or so.

JC, PM heading your way.

Ok, I'll bite. What's a finger steak?
I forgot you folks out "that way" don't know about finger steaks. It's a left-coast thing. Battered strips of steak that are then deep-fried. Dip in either cocktail or barbeque sauce. Usually served with French fries. Most fast food restaurants buy them pre-packaged (not so good), but a few places use a better cut of meat and dip them in their own batter before frying. Yum!

Is this the place that all the servers are on roller skates?

I'm from the west, and had no idea what a finger steak was.

Holy cow! You just never know how a thread will get derailed and what one can learn. Here, I'm from the Boise valley, and I just learned something. From Wikipedia: "Finger steaks are purported to have been first served in a restaurant setting at Boise, Idaho’s “Milo’s Torch Lounge” (aka The Torch) in 1957." I think y'all ought to head my way soon and try them out. Don't go to the Torch, though. It was sold and turned into a stripper bar.
Back to you, Mike...
