We're heading out tomorrow morning for a 5 week visit to our place in the Phoenix area. I'm anxious to go though not looking forward to all the driving. 4.5 hours the first day to Boise, then 5.5 hours to Provo, then 5 hours to Henderson, NV then 4.5 hours to the condo. We could do it a lot faster but hey, we're retired so why rush it.

There won't be any boating on this trip because we brought our Whaler up here but if we go anyplace that's unusually scenic (AZ is ALL scenic!) I probably will take some photos and post them. We have one 3-daytrip planned to Sedona where I already have an Airbnb rented, and possibly an overnighter to Tucson to do some sightseeing.

I'll be checking in from time to time to make sure y'all are behaving yourselves!

BTW, does anyone around that area need a good runnin' 1998 Exploder that's real clean and only has around 123K on the odo? Well equipped, 5.0L V8, leather seats that are in good shape.

I've owned it since day one and we're probably going to sell it while we're down there.

I thought you had a motor home ?
Blue, we did but had to sell it. My Admiral is a very nervous passenger in a car. When she got into the RV it was too much for her and she told me she couldn't go in it any more. So it was up to me to make a choice. Getting rid of the motor home didn't involve attorneys or courts or lots of expenses so I made the logical choice and got rid of it. Actually, the way I looked at it, I liked the RV but I love my wife.

Looking at it from that angle made it a simple choice.

Why are you going the long way? Drop down the 93 at Twin Falls. There's some really nice and clean hotels along the route also.

Seems like a good reason (excuse?) to get back into a big boat.

This makes me sad.
Be careful….it’s happening to me. My wife is trying to down size the house to a community where they do all the outside maintenance grass cutting and snow removal….. Slab house so she is taking my basement…. I have every major Stihl power tools from chainsaws to landscaper blowers…. Generators, mig welders, snowblower, air compressors… every type of wood working tool mostly Dewalt …..you need to watch our wives they are incredibly sneaky….. she did say if you sell everything you can buy a bigger boat….. but I got lucky with this one…. You guys might not be so lucky :)

Greg, scroll back up to my comment above about her being a very anxious passenger in a car. We did 93 once and she couldn't handle the two lane road. So we take "the long way home" and add in an extra day so we're not doing more than about 5.5 hours and that's only the longest day.

Remember the phrase...Happy wife, happy life!

I'm getting too damned old to train another wife so I'll just work on keeping this one very happy.

I know the feeling. I'm only grateful that we both have to sign a sales contract otherwise I'd come home from a work trip and find a moving truck up front. I just gutted and fixed up my garage after years of wanting to do it and now she decides we should downsize and prepare for retirement???

Stay strong brothers!

Oh man…I am laughing my ass off!! Bravo Blue!!

I have to fervently defend my space in the garage, which seems to get smaller and smaller every year. You can gauge the space I’m allotted by our medicine cabinet. 4 shelves full of lotions, girl stuff, makeup, etc. and then there’s one corner that has my deodorant and toothbrush.

Sounds like a great trip GFC. I’ve never been to Arizona, just through it. We have a niece in Sedona. Please take pics!

Maybe she needs to smoke some of your weed, relax and enjoy the ride:)

I don't know about some of you guys. After years of marriage your wives should understand that a manly man has stuff, that's just the way it is.
