Hi All.

these pictures are what happens when you can’t stop your hatch from closing with the safety kick stand down.
My EIM failed and caused the hatch to lower on its own. I just happened to be unable to stop it before it bent the upper bracket from the bottom side of the hatch.
Question is, does anyone know where to find a replacement?
I checked with Searay, FP, skipper buds and Marinemax and all said part is discontinued.
Part number is 1686744 says upper for 320DA but ours is a 340DA.
I may have one fabricated but if I can find a new one, I’d like to go that route.
Any help is appreciated.

Yes, I’m working on that also.

found the part number for the newer model Sundancers so looking for a clear picture to see if that bracket will work on my boat.

You could hammer/punch/leverage that out. It's not a critical piece in terms of "clearance" - so as long as you get close, you'll be good. Fix the U-channel part first, then bend/hammer it back to straight. It'll take you a little time, but it's certainly doable. But be sure to wear better shoes in case you drop the 3lb sledge hammer on your toes... ;)

Tried some of that already.
not sure how those actuators pull so hard.
This steel is extremely hard.
I can move it with a 3lb sledge.

I was able to get mine repaired for $20 at a local fabrication shop here in Boca. installing it today.
thanks

Avoid using a hammer if possible. Use an arbor press or bench vise with the latch wrapped in a towel to avoid marring the finish.

Good deal, Randy. Glad you got it sorted out.
