Calling all 360 DA owners

Sounds like an interesting project. Look forward to your updates.

I had to pivot the genny 90 degrees to get at the negative wire and move it to a better location as it lost good connection. For a unit this size, it will slide around fairly easily.
do you have picture of its current location ? My bottom pan is completely rusted out but I m sure how to replace it without disconnecting the whole thing ?

Then picture above shows the genny just about turned 90degs from its home position. This aloud me to get to the back side or starboard side to redo the negative connection that was corroded.
Not sure how you replace the pan without removing the genny from the boat.
and I would think that would mean a starboard engine tear down to some degree or engine removal.
My pan is also rusted as you might be able to see, but couldn't figuire a quick replacement method, so back it went after all I repaired at that time.

Couple of questions…
What do you use to clean the aft curtains in the cockpit? Boat soap? Regular soap?
Also, coming up on 1000hrs on the 8.1s. What’s the recommended maintenance at this point in their life. Note that it has been 100% fresh water.
Last, I get a generator alarm on my systems monitor. It starts. But within a minute or so the alarm goes off. No load was placed on the generator. Thoughts?
Thanks in advance. Hope everyone is enjoying the summer!

I'm wondering if anyone has had issues with the sliding door that closes off the forward stateroom. Mine has worked flawlessly until this year....all of a sudden it is giving me a problem. When I try to close the door, the first panel slides out no problem, then it engages the second panel..it moves a couple of inches, then stops. Seems to be a hard stop in the lower area. I can't figure out how to access that area. Any ideas? Anyone have a similar problem?

Thanks for any help that you can provide!

Very nice ! your generator look really clean !
while you have the generator out of the way you should sound proof that side of the engine room !

I installed over the weekend the new primary muffler which has made a pretty nice reduction in noise
did not install the secondary muffler as the new exhaust hose turn out of needing replacement.

the footprint of the new muffler is the same size of the previous one it just double in height, essentially plug and play
will post a picture tonight

over the winter the starboard engine exhaust will be removed to allow for greater access and replace all the wet exhaust hoses

check the rollers are still on the track - most likely its off the track

suggest you look into your engine manual for recommended maintenance items

Does anyone know if the 360DA’s have a solid bottom vs a cored bottom? I thought they had a solid bottom if they were built at Merritt Island, which I believe our boats were. I’m finally getting another transducer installed, and the installer was asking.

Update...I emailed SeaRay...our 360DA's have a solid bottom.

I believe they are solid fiberglass.

I finally got out to look at the boat and...both panels of the doors are still hanging from the upper tracks the way they are supposed to, but there is a pin at the bottom edge that slides in a track screwed to the floor. The pin is out of the track...so that is the culprit. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. Now I have to figure out how to get it back in. I tried simply prying up on the end of the door with a long pry bar, but that doesn't do it. I wish I had better access, but I'll just have to figure something out. I may have to remove that lower track and slide it under the pin, or something like that...

So following up on my generator alarm issue. I have gone thru every sensor and verified

Thanks.
So, following up on my generator question....I went thru every sensor and verified they were good. Oil level is full. Coolant level is good. Batteries are good.
The generator starts fine. After a couple minutes, the alarm sounds and I get the display "GENERATOR ALARM" on the Systems Monitor. The generator is still running. I will add that there is good water coming out of the exhaust.
I silence the alarm, and after a few more minutes the alarm will go off again, and I silence it once more. After that, no more audible alarm. I put load to the generator, and it works fine. AC runs great. Ran it 6 hours Friday.
I cleaned the white connector. Started the generator Saturday, and it started normal. This time, after 5 minutes the alarm came on - same as before. Ran for 5 hours with no issues.
So, long story short, I'm leaning towards the connector and/or the Systems Monitor. Has anyone had problems like this? Any help is appreciated. I will try another cleaning of the connector this weekend.

Sorry to hear that! Unknown alarms are very annoying...
I m not familiar at all how the alarm system monitors the vessel
But looks pretty straight forward, I would check the connection ignition, oil connection might have a bad contact somewhere

hope it helps

Is anyone using a tablet at the helm as an additional navigation aid? Even though I have upgraded my electronics and keep my charts updated using the Navionics chip, I recently started using Aquamap on a tablet as an additional aid. We recently moved to NE Florida from the Gulf side of Florida and ICW cruising is new to us. Aquamap has the ability to read in Core of Engineers mapping on current shoaling which is nice to have when boating in new waters. My question is, if you are doing this what tablet are you using and what mount. I have been running with an old Android tablet, but it is very slow and pretty much unreadable if I have polarized sunglasses on. Have been riding with the tablet in an old phone mount right in front of the tachs since I have RPM displayed on my MFD. Would like a better solution that includes a tablet readable with polarized sunglasses and a mount that gets the table from in front of the gauges.

Bd360,

I have started today my generator repair and upgrade. First action today was to remove the exhaust for the engine and generator. I got to say that removing the water hoses is a complete nightmare and will have the Dremel them out as they are not going anywhere!

1) I will be replacing the bottom pan with a new one
2) Locate and fix an oil leak coming from the rear of the generator
3) Installing a oem cabinet to reduce the noise

I have been looking at the best ways doing all the work within or worse case removing the gene

As I was looking at your project, I noticed a hose that I don’t have.
Could you take a pic to show where it goes ? does anyone knows the PN ?

Please help
