Official 290 Sundancer Thread

The whole fixture requires replacement. The previous fixture was a florescent tube with a ballast.
I am not sure if the led fixture/ lights are dimmable but that would be neat.
The arrow points to the new light.
Now I see, I was trying to look at it on my phone and my 60yo eyes aren’t what they used to be. So you changed the 110 side with an LED fixture correct? My plan was/is to remove the whole fixture and try to find an LED 12v “light” that I can slide in and wire to just the 12v side, wire both lights to one of the galley switches and use the other switch spot for a dimmer knob. Thoughts?

Yes, I only changed the 110 ac side and the 12v dc side remains.

Dimming 12v dc shouldn’t be difficult at all. Automotive interior lights are 12v dc and dimmable so it would just be finding the fixture you like and fits plus a switch.

Yes Sir, I have seen these as well. I stumbled across some cool fixtures I think on EBay or Amazon but didn’t have the measurements of the opening. I checked yesterday and came up with 17x5 1/2 sound about right?

Now I cant find the fixtures Hmmm

The measurements sound right.

Keep searching I am confident in your shopping abilities.

Where do boat?
Lake Norman NC we are at Safe Harbor Kings Point (they bought out all the Morning Star marinas) Love it, very nice facility. We were really lucky and able to switch slips from an interior slip to the end slip. Thought I had a picture from the new slip But I’ll get one tomorrow, today is a hang by the pool day animal sitting.

The Queen relaxing on her new sun pad.
Our new slip.

Does anyone have the forward v berth insert that you might be able to make a pattern from it? Mine’s missing and the Queen and I want to turn that berth into a permanent setup. Thanks!

I do, when i get down to the boat on sat i can do for ya. Mine is a 2 piece hinged section that stores under the tv cabinet cushion
Thanks Jeff, let me know what you need and I’ll provide it. I tried using the cushions as a template but gave myself the big red F. I’m going to use a 1/2” piece of plywood, no hinges and screw it down. We should still be able to get under the bow cushions for the stuff we don’t use all the time. I think I’ll use a piece of PVC in the table holder for added support, halnutz on the 260DA thread on V berth bedding has a nice picture of his. It is post 13 back in Feb 2020

So after much YouTube watching here at the beach, did I mention I hate the beach and we have a terrific floating condo at the lake? I have been looking at adjusting the shift cables again, both are having a hard time finding neutral, do I ABSOLUTELY need to get in the water and lock the props up? She’s not stalling from the safety switches, just when I’m docking it’s a challenge to back in because I have to find the sweet spot changing gears. Our port engine drive counter rotates so I’m guessing the adjustment is reversed

No, adjustments are the same on both, you tube lower shift cable replacement. Towards the end it explains how to adjust them. You just might be out a turn or 2

Hey crew, went to the boat today just for a check after being gone for 10 days, all is well (sort of) I broke the latch for the aft cabin door, we are supposed to be in a no wake zone. So brought the broken latch home and found these.

It’s also the same one that is completely missing for the head mirror. Yay.
So the new ones came and they are a perfect match, had to cobble a spacer together for the head mirror/medicine cabinet but much better than the electrical tape! Yay!

Thought I would throw an update out on this as well, buddy came down that sees much better than I do, we started with a 4’x4’ 1/2 piece of plywood. Took all the cushions off and then trimmed the wood so it would lay flat, marked it with a sharpie, cut it again and all is good, I threw in just a couple of screws around the lip and the short table pole, we spent the whole weekend on the boat! Queen gives it a 7 because it’s still just the cushions and a comforter for a mattress. Mitch commented on a topper so that’s the next step but hey, little wins.
