- Mercruiser 5.7 EFI w/ bravo 2 drive
Hey, I bought a sea ray 240 sundancer 2 years ago which has been great, everything has been working great (apart some minor things) and has been a lot of fun. I am pretty new to boats and as this is my second one (first inboard) I am pretty bad at seeing how bad corrosion is and when to worry. I recently did a service of my outdrive (bravo 2) and got some picture from the mechanic that made me very worried. It looks like the drive is very corroded inside. The mechanic says this is because it’s an old outdrive and will work anyways (it’s from 2000).
so my question is, is this normal? Is it safe using this? If not, is there anything I can do that’s not buying a new outdrive?
