Islamorada

Absolutely check out Lor-e-Lei Cabana Bar for sunset. Our favorite place in the keys! It's on the bay side and after dark is a little dicey to navigate so stop by after you drop off your rental.

Sounds awesome. Do you own it? Your boat is named after it.. We’re at post card inn

Then you are already at the best bar in Islamorada. Sandbars don't exist in the Keys. Coral flats do. The most popular back in the day (80's and 90's) was right out the canal of the Holiday Isle (Postcard Inn now) on the left.
Use the boat for snorkeling if you are into that. Hens and Chickens, and if it's still alive, the "Garden" used to flourish right off of Cheeca Lodge, or whatever it's called now.

Hey fellas
I'm heading down to Islamorada next weekend. We rented a center console for the day. Looking for a sandbar and restaurant/bar to stop at.

Any suggestions?

Hope you guys have a blast Rich. Sorry we're not going to be able to make it.

Good advice all around here, Rich. We don't own Lor-E-Lei but have drank my boats weight in Rum Runners there. It has been our favorite place in the keys for a very long time. The "Sand Bar" just outside Holiday Isle Marina at your resort is still where people congregate. Enjoy your trip, I need to get down there soon.

We were just down at Marathon and rented a center console... 24' Sea Fox w/250HP Yamaha... should of been a 50mph boat but could only get 28mph. When we turned it back in and complained, they told us it had "training wheels" on it for the inexperienced. So be aware yours may not perform like you might expect.

Very good to know this. We rented a 2019 26’ Scout with T150 Yamahas. I’ll make sure he understands we’re capable boaters.
Thanks
