48 DA Owners Club

ok got a lot done today running wire and mounting gear. Doing redundant systems nema 2k and Onan panel on the same install. Just got back to the house as I was waiting on one harness adaptor that arrived this afternoon. Should have it all running tomorrow. Still need to get the Maretron 4" monitor on the N2K network but that is rather simple. Need to stop at BOW tomorrow morning and grab a couple of N2K drop cables and should be plug and pray at that point for the smoke test. Then I need to learn how to program this Maretron stuff..... Looks pretty straight forward but hoping for some of Tom's (TTMOT) screen shots to guide me along. Very excited as I want to learn more about expanding my N2K network in the near future.

Lol so looks like I cornered the 48DA door slides. I told the sales lady I needed 4 slides and 4 bolts... she said they are $100 each, so send me 4....lol. If anyone wants a set for $100 let me know otherwise I think I will send 2 sets back and keep 1 spare.

I'll buy a set Grant, and thank you.

Zip tied this in engine room last year. Cheap way to monitor engine room air temp/humidity. Battery lasted 1 year.

Good days work Grant!
Can you see the information on the Genset panel in that location?
and did you need the Y-connector?

Yes went the y-connector route. Arrived last night so going to plug it in today. Should be able to see info without a problem. Will take pics once it is all running today.

they said it is "do-able" just need the size as the plexi will drive up the price a little, I am sure it is peanuts. I told him i would get the "cut-out" size this weekend and some pics so he can quote us.

Measured the sump.. these are approx
The top overall dimensions are 12.25" x 23.75" and the inside dimensions were 8.5" x 20"

Ok got the genset all working except for the N2k set up. Onan panel is great and shows me the info I want to see if I need to see it without having to go chase flashing codes . Went to program the Maretron set up and noticed my N2K network had crashed. Went through the process of emilination from front to back (should have started at the back) and found my J2K100 to be bad and shorting out my whole N2K network. Oh well I will just get that exhanged and back in business. The DSM410 works and was searching the network for data once I booted it up. I hope to have a replacemetn by next weekend so I can get back to programming.

Yep, did that yesterday and sent them the info... Should hear from them on Monday to get the ball rolling. This should be a hot seller for them.

So I installed the new door slides on my door. This was an interesting project but I forgot to take some pictures. The track sections came out but were a bit of a bitch trying to get them clear to remove. As expected when I lifted the door out everyone of the "shoulder bolts" holding the glides to the door were loose and the upper port side was almost completely out. The original slides didn't look too badly worn but were an inch smaller in length than the new ones. This time I decided to use some blue locktight on the sholder bolts to keep them in place. With the help of my dock buddy and several 4 letter words I got it back in place and the "service slides" installed. All in all I spent an hour on this and that included cleaning the tracks. I am super happy with the results, door is smooth as silk now.

But... I was hoping with the new slides installed and the door back aligned to the correct position that my latch would catch and lock correctly. Wrong!!! This POS striker that is used on my boat won't seem to hold anything. There seems to be some different "striker" solutions used by Sea Ray and I seem to have the bad one. I have messed with this ones position too many times and cannot get it to hold. I found the one that comes stock with the latch but going to have to engineer a mounting solution that will be solid. Can you guys take a pic of yours so i can see what everyone has please. I am going to call Sea Ray today to see if these is an updat kit as I want to use the bigger striker but need a mounting option

if you can wait for the weekend, i'll take a few for you.
From recollection, mine looks like the one in the top photo.

This is a pic I had of a 2010 I looked at when I was shopping boats a few years ago.

Stumbled upon this pic when looking for pics for Grant. This is how I pulled my waste lines through the pvc pipe during the dreaded waste line job. Along with a mixture of soap and water.

The name of the 2010 was “Seabatical”. In Hyanis Port. In 2018. You bought that one?

Your guys latches lock? Mine will lock but if you give the door a good shake and pull it pops right open. I double checked the latch and it seems to be just fine. I want it to LOCK and stay locked
