I have 8.1s and suspect one or more dirty injectors. Engine runs okay, but plugs are fouling, oil analysis shows fuel in the oil, and it smells like it's running rich.

I'll remove the injectors. I'm looking for a shop that can service them. Local to the Chesapeake Bay would be great, but I can ship if necessary.

I've used this guy before with great results and Bill is a stand up guy.

RC Fuel Injection. They probably have done a couple hundred calibrations for me over the years.

Have you considered other causes such as faulty temp sending unit telling the ECM to feed excess fuel to the injectors?

Hoping to find someone in stlouis area to clean and test mine. I am just assuming after 20 years it should be done? Am I wrong on that?

Sure it can't hurt but is the other engine exhibiting similar symptoms with the same hours and age? Cars and trucks run there entire life without injector service especially if run with ethanol which is a powerful solvent that cleans fuel systems as they are used. Just pointing out there may be another cause that may persist after your efforts. Hope it works out.

I had not.
I'm not intimately familiar with the various ECM feeds. Is there another sensor besides the Engine Temp sensor? Because that one is functioning fine per my Vessel View monitor.

I don’t know that I have any issues. Just thought it would be good to check it off the list

I haven't looked at other ideas yet. This was based on my mechanic's recent comments.

He noted fouled plugs and I told him that oil analysis showed fuel in the oil. Compression test is good, so his first thought was likely a hanging injector.

He's good guy and often gives me advice on how to do my own repairs, so I don't think he's fishing for work.
