2008 Jul 18th-Aug 3rd Seattle/San Juan Island/BC Gulf REDZVS

Todd, since we wil be in Victoria, I emailed the company and bcc's you about getting them when we are there. Asked for a group discount and if they could deliver to the docks if they are not w/i walking distance...

BTW, if we can collect everyone's info (cell # and names), I'll put together a 3x5 card with the cruise on the back and the names on the front so we can have them at gatherings and know everyone...

That sounds good. Did the last itinerary look good?
Also, someone asked for the Number you used to call Nanaimo.

Did you have that handy?

Todd,

Our schedule has unfortunately changed drastically as we are now heading out from Blaine on the 29th of July. So while we are still headed North, we will be leaving just about the time that you all will be heading south to Friday Harbor. We'll still planning a fantastic trip as long as you save a few crab for us...

If our schedule changes and we head to Friday Harbor first, we will look for you all at the dock. Otherwise, I'll hope to see some of you out on the water at other times later in the summer/fall.

Thanks again,

Jonathan

Sorry to hear that Jonathan.
Hope to see you at some point either way, but don't count on us saving any crab.
It doesn't last long around my family.....HA!

Hello Carl(“Champange Lady”) and the “SR400DB” and all other CSR/iBoatNW members,
We really hope things are well and you can make it for this trip.

Doug and Lea “GoAweighTo” are preparing Name tags for everyone.

Please “REPLY TO ALL” with your replies confirming the following:
1. cell numbers
2. MMSI numbers (if you have your DSC Radio going)
3. The names of all the participants (including the kids)

There have been lot’s of people, including us, who are scrambling to get either their boats ready or important events in their respective lives ironed out to make this trip.

It appears that Dave (DaveM from CSR) is making great strides and his transom leak issue it appears and that Scott (SMAINER from CSR) is on the fence with a pending home purchase.
Also, Jeremy (280SeaRay) has some irons in his fire, so he has moved his status to Undecided (as of last week). Jeremy, let us (or me) know an update if things are changing.
We hope everyone can still make it. Mo and I made a list this evening of the “things’ to bring/do before the trip. It’s a lot for less than 2 weeks now, but I really feel like this will become a trip of a lifetime.

Please keep everyone up to date.

We're confirmed at Caldwell Is.
I just got off the phone with My Uncle, he's planning on making it up there before we arrive.

I believe the last couple of days I have jostled up. The last “ENTIRE GROUP” date should be Thursday Night at Friday Harbor. I will double check an e-mail I may have sent out and post an editted Itinerary here and e-mail it out sorry for the confusion.

Thanks Todd! Otherwise, that would have really screwed up the reservation we already made for Thursday night.

Looking forward to seeing everyone next week ~ yippee!

Ok, good, so you have made the reservation for Thursday at Friday Harbor correct?

Who is organizing/facilitating the southern (slower-paced) group?

Organizing? Facilitating? What's that? (~; The key to the southern group is "slower- paced". Without putting words in Jim's or Dave's mouths, I would say that after meeting up in Roche the first night it's been the general sense of the southern group to largely play it by ear. Victoria as the next stop would be the goal, but if we cannot get a place in the inner harbor we might also consider going to Butchard and Tod's Inlet for the weekend before giving Victoria another "try" early during the week. Much of the itiniary will be planned as we go - weather and site dependant. If someone in our group has any special wishes as to where they'd like to go, we might all go - who knows? That's the uniqueness and charm of staying in the San Juans. Even if we decide to split up for a night or 2, we'll easily hook up again thereafter. There's beauty in this simplicity!

I just got off the phone with Victoria. I think she's going to work with us. I will have more for either tonight, but I'm making a roster, so we know who exactly will be in Victoria
Also, Holger, Your buddy "Carl" I think. I haven't heard anything from him.
Have you.

Carl is likely not going to be able to make it. )~; He's got some job-related issues to deal with. He's really bummed about not being able to go, though he keeps looking for any excuse to go, regardless.

Ok, well if he changes his mind or can make it that would be great, just let me know. I just e-mail the roster of what I have to date.

Hey You're ALIVE!!!:smt038

I don't think we're gonna make it Todd. My dad passed away in January and we moved my mom from Idaho to be closer to us. All the family drama coupled with boat hauling fees, stupid fuel costs, and lack of vacation time worked against me this year. Next year for sure!

P.S. Who knows, I just might drive up to meet the group somewhere along the way.

Hey Todd,

What a great trip, some awesome destinations, and perfect mix of urban and wilderness marine.

Would love to connect at some point, but it looks like we'll be staying on this side of the "pond" (Straight of Georgia ) for the dates and times you all are "up North".

Small consolation - the SeaRay Aquapoluza :smt038is happening July 26th and 27th, M&P Marine dealer isthe sponsor of this one. 26th is a raft-up in English Bay, on the Vancouver waterfront, for the annual FireWorks Celebration of Light competition - USA on the 26th. I don't think you'll see it from Desolation sound, but maybe if you're real quite after 10pm you might hear a few "bangs" go off! 27th is an afternoon raft-up and BBQ at the ski club in Bedwell Bay, Indian Arm. I'm sure any SR owners in the area are welcome.

I'll look for the post-trip posts and pix on your return.
Safe trip to all and may the sea gods give you calm waters and beautiful sunsets.

Have a great time, eh!

Thanks Gregg. Yeah, we'd love it if you could meet up as well, but we'll be back up later this summer.

GenGiant should be coming through Portland right now, DaveM more than likely also just got on the Road along with Sundancer.

It's finally the Eve of a year long planning saga.
My boat is being tested this morning and if all goes well I pick it up this afternoon we head out tomorrow

Ok, we're heading out tomorrow.

GenGiant and DaveM should already be in the SanJuans.
Doug(GoAweigh2452) is in Pt. with another Mate "DawgFish" that is joining us.

Our boat's ready and I can't believe it's here. I started this thread with Nehalennia II back on June 4th of 2007.
I will do my best to journal (if not Blog if I can) but we'll take tons of pictures

Here's a few to chew on; and one of my old favorites.
These are all places we'll visit in the next 17 days
