Great news! Congrats, and thanks for letting us know how to resolve it.Update on ac. Its fixed. YAY..... after doing 50 hours of research on line, testing all breakers and scrathing my head bald i finally opened up the control box. There is 2 - t50 fuses in the box that were blown. Here is what ya have to do. Remove panel in rear sleeping area (4 screws ) that will give you access to ac and control box. Turn off ac breaker. Remove box from wall. Open and replace 2 fuses. Mine looked fine but i guess after 22 years they did their job. $2 boat bucks. Not bad
Exactly!! LolThat feeling ya get when you fix something on a boat that you know nothing about and didnt have to kiss the ring of the boat mechanic and promise your first bornView attachment 92208

A few words of caution:Question to the 98 290 group. While working on my ac unit i thought of a good idea. I have a ac vent in the back bedroom. I do not use this area for sleeping but mainly use it for storage of stuff like grill, pads and such. Has any done or seen done re routing this vent to the cockpit area. Like somewhere by the captains helm? Would be nice to have ac in the outside area especially since i have a full camper top. Is this a good idea. Think if i drill a 3 inch hole and add a vent somewhere. i can either t off that line or eliminate it completely from that room. Any thoughts
Who has replaced the brittle foam/rubber at the bottom of the windshield that covers the screws?? also how about switch panels?
Yes please check to make sure everything is flowing into and out of the box properly.
The box should have a lid on top...... if it's full of water (and there's water outside the box as well) your bilge pump inside the box has malfunctioned/clogged. It gets pretty nasty so from time to time it's good to give the box a good cleaning.
It should look similar to this. The little mesh screen you see catches hair and other debris that might go down the shower drain and once this is clogged the flow can be reduced. Plus the float switch and bilge pump could be slimed up. I use some Spray 9 and a rag once in a while and give the box a good cleaning..... the screen can be removed and use a hose to spray all the crap off of it.
If you have Air Conditioning the condensate also drains into this little sump.
To be on the safe side I would wear some rubber gloves when cleaning out this box.

That rubber backing is nasty. When I pull my carpets up, there’s black rubber stuck on the deck that seems to get worse each time. I’m having Sea Deck made now, so I have to get all that black crap off the deck first. I just bought a portable pressure washer for starters. Any other suggestions for getting that stuff off, and prepping the deck?Yeah. I also check before every run. Gonna stick with the 4 piece. Bringing to a local guy and having him use as a template. My old carpet backing just denigrated. Gonna do like others said and spray a rubber backing on it to save as a spair
Ok thanks for looking. I also had no luck. We just got the bought in June, so I’m not sure how long it’s been missing. Probably years. Maybe I’ll make something up, like you said.Good luck finding it. I just did a search and didnt find anything. Believe its a rule or attwood sub box. Ya can buy entire box for about $100 boat bucks. I would just make one.
