Without the hose inserted? Never.I think I have a short in my central vac - it randomly comes on for 1-2 seconds and then shuts off. Anyone else experience this?
Maybe in one of the outlet rings that you plug the hose into. I have never had one apart but I assume there are 2 contacts in there that the metal ring on the hose connects.Correct. I'm guessing there is a short somewhere...

Here is my solution to getting the info from the generator now that I have VV7 at the helm which doesn’t support the generator info anymore. I was going to mount on the overhead dash next to the VV7 on the bridge but as I thought more about it I liked the idea of being able to get the generator info from the living space as this is where we are most of the time when the generator is running.

Use this one - I had to replace all of mine and this work just fine.

Those aren't dimming controls; they are latching relays for the lighting that have the push-button momentary switches (I had to replace both of mine) . Also, FYI, if you look at the back of the electrical panel (to the left in the photo), you will notice a blade fuse block; that is for the CO detectors, Glomex OTA amplifier, and that panel's lighting.Followed your lead for many of your same reasons. Wanted to tie into the Nema 2000 but that requires a Maretron Device to decode the Onan Gen info and I do not think you can get the engine hours from that connection.
One thing I did differently; rather than running two sets of cables I spliced into the wiring harness inside the Generator Control Box.
Also while doing this I found the dimming controls behind the wall/electric panel.

12A - I did change all of the bridge lighting to LED so there was really no need for the larger one.Hey Tom, Since the original controllers are 15 amp. maximum, did you go with the 12 amp. or 25 amp.with the Blue Sea? I’m assuming the 25?

The two dimmer modules under the helm were replaced with the Blue Sea Systems Deckhand Dimmers.Did you replace the latching relays with a Blue Sea product as well and if so do you know which model. I need to change the one for the cockpit. I thought those were same as the bridge.
Seems my boat likes to run with a bit less RPM (December 2019 data)QSM11 52DB Best Cruise MPG:
Curious what everyone’s best are... my best MPG/GPH seem to change by tide and winds but the below is about the best I have seen.
Interestingly right after my prop trimming (last fall) to 28 x 30.5” (from 28” x 32”) my GPH was 19.5 at 2000 RPM’s. So my GPH has increased at 2000 RPM from last fall.
RPM - 1950
KTS - 23.0
GPH - 20.2
MPG - .65

Yes, 1800 to 1850; seems like the boat likes it.I have not checked the GPH, etc while below 1950 or so... I was under the impression that I would be creating too much heat at that RPM and not pushing enough air through. You are running 1500 less RPM and about one knot less.
Do you cruise at that speed often? I also run 50-70% Trim Tabs most of the time.

The tab setting may be more or less but that is what is indicated at the best speed.
