I have a 2004 340 with 6.2L engines. I had a recent ICA failure on Starboard engine and my power steering quit. With both engines having power steering pumps isn't there a redundant design for power steering to continue to operate with one engine running? Is there a problem with my steering system or is the port engine power steering unit just for show?
Thanks for your help.

If they are no longer available you can accomplish the same thing with two 6-port selector valves.

It takes so many ports because the unused engine has to be allowed to free flow thru the cooler and return to its reservoir. Two ports on each just get a loop

This is of course a manual failover
If port valve is “off” then starboard is “on” never both “on”
If both in bypass then no power steering
If both on you will over flow one reservoir

If it comes to this i can draw a plumbing schematic
