I just purchased an 08 40da and found out the cockpit table is missing. Does anyone know the table size and pole length?

also if anyone has a lead on where to find a nice teak table, I'm all ears.

thanks

I’d suggest to make the table top. Not hard and will be cheaper overall.
Will need to buy post and bracket for under timber. I’m not in the US but in Australia we have Whiteworths and they have the posts for sale

Post some photos of the finished product :)
Mine was all dented and scratched - took home, sanded back, and re-oiled / varnished
I am NOT a carpenter , and it come out better than new.
Getting a nice bit of timber and then go from there

I purchased an 08 40DA as well. I’ll measure all that stuff tomorrow for you should you still need it.

this is what i purchased.

not sure on the fit yet, boat arrives on Friday
I bought the same table, but folds from the end. I also go the smooth chrome post. I think it looks so much better than the original grooved post. And I love the table.
You will also want to seal your table. I got SEMCO teak sealer from Defender Marine. Marine Teak can't ship it as it has to come ground transport.

I got the same chrome post- agree, way better than OEM posts used. I also put two coats of sealer on mine as well, hopefully it holds up better than Teak Oil.

I also just ordered the same table that you bought. Thanks for the tip about the Semco teak sealer. I ordered two part epoxy, and varnish which was going to take a lot of time, and energy to apply, so I just ordered some Semco too!

My new teak table was delivered today, and it looks great! Now where's the Semco sealer that I ordered?

UNBOXING / INSTALLATION OF NEW COCKPIT TEAK TABLE

After seeing @TALON and @Rywnps17 posts I was inspired to order a replacement for the OEM cockpit table that my wife has complained about plenty of times (the Corian insert is cracked and discolored). When I saw that www.marineteak.co.uk was in England I figured ... great ... I'll order now and it will be here in time for Labor Day. Imagine my surprise when I ordered it on Thursday and they global FedEx'd it to my house in California for arrival on Monday! Wow!

Here is the unboxing:
1) IMG_7914.jpeg - It arrived via FedEx in multiple layers of bubble and soft wrap.
2) IMG_7915.jpeg - Much like Howard Carter discovered in 1922, once the outer sarcophagus was striped away, an inner simple box was revealed.
3) IMG_7916.jpeg - I set the new table surface on top of the old table. Looks like a very close match for size (I realize several CSR members upgraded to a larger table - however it was important to me that it still fit inside the original stow spot).
4) IMG_7917.jpeg - The underside of the new and old tables next to each other. I decided I would reuse the old table base and screw it into the new one.
5) IMG_7918.jpeg - I became concerned that the original #14 1" stainless steel screws would be too long for the thickness of the new tables and the screw heads would penetrate the surface if I attempted to reuse.
6) IMG_7920.jpeg - My local West Marine had #14 3/4" stainless screws for $0.49 each. I felt more comfortable that these would not penetrate the surface.

7) Finding the true center of the new table took a little bit of back and forth measurements. Once I was satisfied I drilled pilot holes with a 5/32" bit. I marked masking tape on the bit to the depth of the screw so I wouldn't accidentally drill too far and penetrate the surface.
8) IMG_7922.jpeg - Here is the installed (but unsealed) table!

9) NEXT STEP - Unfortunately my West Marine was backordered on the Quart of SEMCO Teak Sealer (which is recommended by Marine Teak) and didn't even have any in the warehouse. I found on Amazon https://www.amazon.com/Semco-Sealer-10224-Natural-Quart/dp/B007NTO75K/ for $41.95 ... unfortunately it will not arrive until a week from now ... so I will have to keep the table covered when I use the boat this weekend. I'll post a follow up once I seal the table.

^^^^ Looks great! Looking forward to some pix after you apply your finish to your new Teak table.

After much research I've decided to go back to my original plan of, two coats of West Systems two part epoxy (105 resin, and 207 hardener), and two coats of #2015 Pettit 1-Spar Captains Varnish with UV protection, and one coat of #1015 Pettit Flagship Varnish that offers a harder finish and a higher gloss than the #2015. Pix to follow.

I am about to install one myself but am waiting on a new pedestal.

My first impulse was a varnish finish, but I think that’s a mistake now having seen the table.

With that black rubber caulk in the joints, the last thing you want is a coating system that builds a film. The epoxy and varnish won’t stick to that and will probably flake off as things expand and contract and they will.

That said I finished mine with 3 coats of Semco and I don’t have lots of faith in it’s durability. I’m sure it’ll be better than teak oil (also known as temp oil) but I’ll see.

I work for an industrial wood coatings company and deal with these kinds of issues frequently.

On subsequent re-coats I may add a few ounces of matte spar varnish to the Semco to increase its durability a bit and I bought coasters.

Chair king sells the sealer under their brand but it is Semco.

I found a Sea Ray new OEM table base bracket that's 20-5/8" long on Ebay that should workout great.
