The "virus" What are your thoughts

Just heard from one of our buddies in FMB that they just closed the beaches. Not sure what that means, but you may want to check it out.
Yep. Just heard that this morning. No reason to go there now. I guess we’ll just eat some of the costs and move on. What am I suppose to do? I know we’ll never use an agent again when we have an idea of where we’re going.

I wonder what they’re expecting (besides going home) from the vacationers to do down there? They’re going to congregate somewhere until they leave.

It was going to get here sooner or later I suppose. It just doesn't seem totally real until you're surrounded.

I see that they think the risk to kids might be higher than they initially thought. I'm thinking I'll lock my grandkids in the pole barn with their phones and I'll slide pizza under the door a couple times a day.:p
Haha!! Indeed! My kid could live for months that way. Although she is pretty active. I’d add a Bluetooth audio speaker (teenager) and maybe a dance mat.

Good friends are staying in their camper in Florida.

Talked to them yesterday. They said they are doing well but will soon have the trailer park to themselves. A lot of the people there are from Canada, especially Quebec. I guess the Canadian government told all their citizens that in case of sickness they had to be in their own country in order to receive their government health care. They have to go back immediately.

If my information is wrong please correct me.

I know you are an an adult but skip your trip please. I am a hospital pharmacist and everyone who is in the healthcare field is waiting for this to blow up. we have not seen anything yet. please stay home and please read this.

I have a trip booked to Bermuda next month. I'm 99% sure it will be cancelled, but haven't pulled the trigger yet. In addition to just being safe, the Bermuda government has issued an order that any person entering the country before 3-31 must be in self isolation for 14 days and monitored by their health department. Kind of puts a damper on tourist activities.

Has anyone heard a rumor of a mandatory "shelter in place" order, either for NY or nationally, to go into effect by this weekend?

New York has been kicking it around for a few days. Mayor supports. Governor does not.

US has denied any such plan.

Oak Park in Suburban Chicago has done it. As well as San Fran area.

And we believe them. If this is going to stop they willl have to shut movement down. IMHO

I've heard otherwise although not directly from the quoted source. Still in my rumor pile as of now.

Still can't find any TP, however, which is getting closer to becoming a personal crisis! :O

I do not face book but my wife does, and she was saying yesterday that the loopers where talking about this on FB. What she took from it was that the Canadian health plan does not cover them when they come here as snow birds or cruisers or .. and they have to buy supplemental insurance plans and some, maybe all?? of those plans were saying basically you have x number of days to get back to Canada because they are not going to cover in this crisis. Again, it came from facebook, so...

No, Canadian Health care does not cover you outside of Canada.... You have to buy a supplemental plan

We don't by chit from Iran. But China on the same "do not buy list." Wall street, big corps and the politicians where all in on the scam.

Wall St. and big corps are in the business of making money for their clients and shareholders. That’s what they’re supposed to be doing.
Politicians are supposed to be looking out for your interests. Not their own. They’re the flaw in the system.

One of our large local supermarket chains here announced today that us old farts will have the run of the stores from opening at 6 A.M. to 7:30 A.M. on Tuesdays and Thursdays. 60 and over, we will be asked for I.D. at the door.

Supermarkets around here are open early morning hours for seniors only shopping too.
My wife sent me out this morning.
It was like a roller derby in there.
I did score a loaf of bread and some TP though.

Correct. Or like me, you have travel health insurance through another source like my Visa Avion card automatically. We had a health thing with our son in Mexico over Christmas and went to a private hospital. $2500 bill was 100% covered. Travel health insurance plans usually cost about $15-$30 for a family for 2 weeks.

Canada is telling it’s citizens and permanent residents to come home in the event the borders completely shut down ..not because of health.

To add to this, some supplement travel insurance policies stipulate that you have 10 days to return.
Others cover you if you had the policy before travel advisory was declared.
However, our Government has recommended all Canadians who are out of the country to return ASAP.
If anybody who is crossing the border, including Canadians, exhibit symptoms then they will not be allowed to enter Canada.
