Seems every year we get a thread going about the shrinkwrap coming off and splash dates so why not get it started. Have checked the forecast and it seems the freeze is behind us. The only thing keeping us covered still is the marina hasn't turned the water on as yet. I like to get a good wash and wax going before i put the canvas back up to keep the weather out. Looking forward to be floating in our slip within the next 30 days. Can't wait to be swinging on the hook away from the masses looking for hand sanitizer. The only Corona discussions to be had will be with or without lime.

Be careful. Yesterday I swapped the winter rubber floor mats in the cars for the nice summer carpet ones, and I placed the ice scrapers on a shelf in the garage. History has shown that this action practically guarantees a snowstorm.

Back when I used to pull boats out of the water for the winter months I always looked forward to pulling off the cover, washing and waxing it and getting ready.

I'll never forget my first ride in my 20' bowrider when I got her home. Canvas all up, snowing like crazy, no windshield wipers so I had the canvas unzipped in front of the helm and had my head stuck out the opening so I could see where I was going. I was only out for about an hour but froze the whole time.

Is that NUTS or what! One of the best trips ever!

I'm sure our marina will be buzzing this weekend. 70 in CT yesterday was just nuts. I was out mtn biking in the evening and it was like i was riding in June.
I may pull the shrink on Saturday, although i may focus on getting the coolers back together. No major rush just yet as we are targeting an April 10th splash, so long as they finish installing our swim platform in time. Not a ton for me to do this year as our bottom paint is in great shape. I just want to spray the running the gear, and put on zincs. And wax below the rub rail.

Pull the wrap install a few zincs wax the hull and splash!

Winter wind took care of the tarp for me. So I’m ready to go. :)

I was ready to go till I burned up a impeller. Started the teak work three weeks ago.

We went out this past Sunday. It was cold, but beautiful. First time on the boat since October. Spring and warmer weather can’t come soon enough.

I won’t unwrap for a week or so but skipped out of work a little early today to come down and get a few things started that I needed warmer temps for.
I am looking forward to the getting the wrap off and getting her cleaned up.

I charged the batteries. Does that count? The boat is still in the barn getting infused with filtered free range air, waiting for the lake water to hit 70 degrees.

Cut a slit in the wrap today to get onboard for a few minutes. Felt sooooo good. Everything was nice and dry.

Started to charge the batteries. Checked the model of zincs so I can order the right ones. Took home a couple wood items to varnish on my workbench.

I am still sort of wrapped.... I have a couple of weeks before I can take the time to get it ready. I might get blocked outside to give me more time if I get kicked out of storage.

Dropped down in the water and barnacle busted heat exchanger, replaced coolant and zinc on genny and started. Plan on doing out drives this weekend, got lazy at end of last season. Will start motors and run to operating temp. All else is ready other than a wash and wax and some odds and ends.
