What do other season members do for hobbies with their wives in the winter when the boat is high and dry? We are headed to our 4th year as boaters and I have to say the off-season is getting tougher and tougher. I am noticeably grumpy. I know finding hobbies with your spouse is always hard. But, hoping since we all have this life in common that I might get some ideas. Traveling would be nice. But, we are far from retirement and save most of our vacation time for boating.

In my case I take a lot of time off in the summer, almost every Friday and Monday plus a couple of vacations. So we are together a lot of the time. In the winter I pour a ton of time into work, working most nights and weekends. We typically take 1 maybe 2 - 7/10 days vacations somewhere warm but that's it...play in the summer work in the winter

Thats the time i chip away at the Honeydo list around the house, Keeps the admiral off my back and happy

On the weekends, sit'n around the cabin fireplace, occasional ATV rides, friends and family visits. Then there's the vacation to the Caribbean islands in February...

Pretty much what was said above. We both worked a lot. She worked for a world wide package delivery company and in the 2 months before Christmas would perform her full time office duties and then work another 30 or so hours per week doing something else, usually scheduling and working with seasonal help. I hunt at that time of year and helped pick up the loose ends from her working all the time. She also attended college on a part time basis so not a lot of time to kill. Because of the hours I worked, the only time to work outside around the house not in the dark was the weekends, always something to do there.
After the Christmas rush there was season tickets to the hockey games helped pass time and fun.
Weekend getaway packages like murder mysteries, valentines specials, etc. at nearby resorts that are just trying to get people in the place to pay the bills until the snow melts was always fun..and cheap for what you get.
Traveled to not to distant cities to attend boat shows.
When the kids reached college age, we would travel weekends to whichever town they would be traveling to for their sports activities to watch their games and to visit somewhere new.
The last couple of years just before retirement she joined some art classes and we got together once a month in an informal bowling league with of 6 or 8 couples from our boat dock and some other non boating friends to round out the 10 teams needed.
Now we are both retired and it seems way to busy.

We are building a house.

I spend too much time over winter on CSR, living vicariously through those of you lucky enough to live in places where you can boat year round! Please post more pictures and videos to get me through the next 3 months!

We break out the 'winter toys'. The diesel pusher gets used most often during to winter to go camping. We also take the side by sides and dirt bikes with us. Gives us a break and change of scenery. I usually work out more regularly during the winter... Typically maybe 6 days a week whereas in the summer I may only do 4 or 5 because I'm too busy wrenching on something.

Supposed to be 58 and sunny tomorrow. I intend to blow the mud off the bottom off the boat.

My boat comes out in late November. Time passes quickly up until New Years Day because of getting her put to sleep for the winter, preparation for the holidays and all the other stuff that goes on.
January 1st - mid March drags because of the cold weather. This will be my third winter since retiring.
The first was boring, last year we took a vacation in January and another in February so it went a lot faster.
This year we’re taking a couple of more trips and I’m going to try my hand at recovering the cushions for my son’s 18’ Bowrider.
