I’ll be back on the boat Friday for a few weeks can you share the exact location of the sandbars and can I take the dinghy from Longboat key there? I’d love to fly my drone there as well. Great shots!,,,

Doable trip on the Dinghy, long ride.

If you want to take your larger boat, Galati Marina is a good option. The marina itself is something of a "working" boatyard, does have a restaurant onsite. If you were over night you would want a golf cart. Marina has the number for a golf cart rental place which will pick you up at the marina to get a golf cart. One of our favorite restaurants is Waterfront. Not far from marina.

Not sure if you have taken your dinghy out new pass yet. Some fun sandbars out there. Bait Shop is a picnic table hamburger place just inside the bridge if a person likes burgers.

I would say Seafood Shack, or Bradenton Beach Marina for an overnighter, as that's closer to the target. I have stayed at the East side house many times while helping Ms Roberts prep it for sale. We rode by, but on the East side of the island Saturday, around 1-2pm over to Swordfish Grill then back. I'll be in one of your drone shots someday. If you see a 370 full of happy people, swoop down and rock your arms.

Drone is a DJI M2P

Location of sandbar you can look up Jew Fish Key, bridge is between N Long Boat to Anna Maria

thx yall

Thanks will check it out also with my M2P. Didn’t mean to hijack great shots. How about some video footage?
Are you using a Go Pro for the underwater shots?

Wow, great pics from my favorite place to visit! We go every year for a week or 2 in the summer.

A couple of things to note/questions.

The sandbar has really expanded under the bridge since this summer. It looks like it's almost to the dock of the house on the north end of Longboat and there was a lot more distance between the 2 in the summer.

On pic 2, I believe you're over the south end of Jewfish looking toward the channel into where Cannons Marina is located. Is that the Shore restaurant dock in the bottom of the picture? I They weren't open yet this summer. Now you have the option of the Shore or Mar Vista in that area which is pretty nice.

As noted in another post, Bradenton Beach Marina or Seafood Shack would be the best spot for Joe to take the big boat from Longboat Key Moorings in order to enjoy the sandbar at Jewfish. Galati is at the opposite end of AMI and would be a longer ride in the dinghy than from where you're located. If you took the dinghy from your dock, it might not be that bad as I think you might be able to more in a straight line up there rather than the channel which is on the other side of Sarasota Bay. I'm not sure of that though as I've never run a dinghy through there.

Thanks for sharing and making me count the days till our next visit. Maybe I'll have to take the wife down for her birthday in January.

Looks like a nice area to spend some time for sure - we'll check it out when there in Jan. Probably sound ridiculous to some, but we pack the dingy/motor in the trunk and head out from our Ft. Myers condo to different areas for the day. Just find a place by the water to park the car, inflate the boat and head to sandbars, islands, or just cruise the shoreline and take in the real estate scenery. When done, just deflate the dingy and pack it back in the trunk. Gives us something to do while escaping the brutal Canadian winter weather and gets us out on the water! We get a kick out of it.

Jimmy,

Sounds like a great plan to me! You've got me dinghy shopping!
