Purchasing a 2000 460 Sundancer. The broker showed us how both sofas open up flat and convert to a sleeper. However, he could not get either sofa back into the "sofa position", leaving the boat that way saying he would call the owner to see if there was a trick.
I spoke with him today on the phone and he claims the owner says the sofa opens and locks "over-center" and it needs a helping hand to get it moving towards the retract position. All the time he was trying to retract the sofa's he was engaging several buttons and we heard a "clicking" noise and the lights dimmed momentarily while he was pushing the buttons. Obviously a large draw on the electrical system but wonder what's going on. He said the bed position were used only a few times during the life of the boat.
Are the motors shot? Are the mechanisms shot? Or both? And how much would it cost to replace the motors? How many hours of labor are involved? Survey coming up in two weeks and I want to negotiate the repair into this.
