Hi Guys,
I just realized my emergency anchor crank is missing. Not sure what make my windlass is, but I assume the cranks are the same size?
Cheers Rob

Mine is both, emergency crank, and tightens or loosens the gypsy.
And I have a Quick windlass.

I have learned my new thing for the day now to learn how that works , is there a means of overcoming the resistance of the electric motor while using as a manual winch, what model Quick do you have?

Here are the instructions for mine. There are 2 points where the handle inserts, the middle one releases the electric motor/clutch, or tightens it up, the outside hole spins the gypsy for retrieval. I’d never heard the terms weighing the anchor or casting the anchor, the pdf is for Great Britain, but I think these are US terms as well, just not ones I’m familiar with!

This is great I think I will seriously consider this windlas should I ever need a replacement. I have had on occasion to manually retrieve an anchor and hand over hand was the only way piling the rode onto the deck and once finished loosen the gypsy to pull the rode through into the locker. I've since replaced the rode and not had issue with it excepting at my rope chain tapered backsplice on occassion. . I'll rework that over winter and hopefully get a better result doing that job on a bench at home than I achieved my first attempt .
