Hi All
Im looking to replace my canvass/visors etc. this winter, but before I do is there anyone out there who has designed a camper frame for the rear section ? as Im wanting to have more use of the rear seats when the canvas is up, as this is more often the case here in the UK :((

Hi Tony,
Long time no see! I've sent a few ppl your way for the bilge vent covers. Are you still making them? Somehow the desperate souls seem to find me first. As far as the camper back, my boat came with one. It's a very simple framework with 2 side panels & a rear panel. I can take some pics this week if you want. We leave ours up most of the season. I like the canopy for shade during the day then the panels up at night with the windows zipped open exposing the screens. This keeps the moisture off of the upholstery while letting the breeze get thru.

Transom Shower valve on late 90s 330DA:

Has anyone found a way to fix drip leaking or replace the valve on the transom shower? Mine does not leak when closed, but when using it, water drips around and under the hot/cold handle, so its the valve that is leaking. Not critical but its annoying to me. I would also consider replacing the valve if someone has figured out a simple replacement.

I replaced the valve in mine years ago with parts from a local hardware store. I'm pretty sure that I used Delta Faucet RP77739 Repair Kit. Look up "Delta Faucet Repair Kit" at HD or Lowes and compare the pictures to your parts. I can't remember if it used the RP70 or RP212 ball.
I was nice to change that old yellowed plastic crystal handle with a new clear one (Delta Faucet RP2391)

That is awesome! Amazon order placed will arrive tomorrow in time for the weekend. I am 99% sure that it is the RP212 since that has the screw hole on top for the handle. I replaced my handle with an all chrome one a few years ago because the plastic one had yellowed and I thought a new one would too.

Hi Todd
Ive been busy building our new house over the last three years and so we moved the boat back from the west coast of Scotland a couple of years ago back to Peterhead, Aberdeenshire. Its not a great area for boating but it saves a 10 hr round trip to run the engines and keep an eye on her, and I was hopeful to get some use out of her when the sun came out. We are planning to put her back on the West Coast again next season and as it will be on a swing mooring for the season Im planning some mods like a bonded flexible solar panel on the front sun pad area and either bilge alarm GSM/text alert system and/or strobe repeater on the radar arch so as to raise awareness if she is in distress :), When I re engined her to the Steyr's I had a separate fuel tank made to supply the Westerbeck gen-set, but we never used it much as we were always on a pontoon with power. Now I'm needing to remove it and either rebuild it and reinstall or replace it with a battery bank and inverter system, I'm doing some calcs to see if viable and as we in Scotland have limited requirement for Aircon (this requires the biggest starting current) I do need amperage to run the Microwave and Halogen hobs along with heat down below decks for those all to often chilly evenings. I did install a Eiberspacher warm air heater in the engine bay which outputs to the cockpit and its not too difficult to extend this into the cabin but if its possible to run the existing Ac/Heater from the battry/inverter then thats the way Ill go. If you or any fellow 330 crews have any info/questions then please shout up.

Yes, I still get the vent covers made and thanks for putting the "word out".
I would like to see some shots of your camper canvas and frame when you get the chance, I have a few ideas but wanted to check around and see if there is something I hadn't thought about.

Tony,
Halo! This is Eric "McEwing" Alber from New Orleans, Louisiana. I am fairly new to the forum but but sure for everyone it was great to hear from you and glad that you (and boat) are well. My family and I had the opportunity a few years back to visit my Clan Ewen ancestral home land at Otter Ferry on Loch Fyne, West Coast and had the time our lives exploring the old country. Indeed there are some of the most beautiful places in Argyll and Bute. Sure you will be glad to get back there next season. Slainte is Tainte. Alba gu brath.

All,
I recently had a engine stalling problem on my starboard gasoline engine but changed over now to a MSD Blaster 2 ignition coil and think I have solved it. The old one was overheating after about 1/2 hour running.

Best regards to all,
Eric Alber

Otter Ferry was our local, we kept the boat at Tarbert loch Fyne for 6 years and you are right it is a beautiful place indeed. We are looking forwards to exploring further north next time basing “Sanctuary” in a bay backed Badachro.

Hi Tony,
Sounds like you've been real busy!! Glad to hear that you still make the vent covers. Maybe you should make a new thread here stating that. For some reason I think when people Google it they end up messaging me. Then I refer to you!!
Here are the pics of my camper. Lmk if you need any more info or pics. Will back at the boat Wednesday or Thursday. 20190824_111050.jpg 20190824_111111.jpg 20190824_111106.jpg 20190824_111104.jpg 20190824_111056.jpg

Thanks again TimTech. That was exactly the kit needed for the transom shower for our series of boats. Perfect replacement. I lubed the new ball with a bit of plumbers silicone grease on install and it works beautifully now.

I just bought a 98' 330DA and my water pump looses its prime from the tank, which then caused the pump to continuously run. If I turn on a faucet I still have pressure and then the filter bowl fills and the pump regains its prime. But after sitting for a few minutes it looses its prime again from the filter to the tank and then kicks on and continues to run. Doesn't make sense at all but I'm starting to think that there is a leak on the feed side somewhere. Also assumed that the pump would be more gravity fed not actually having to suck water from the tank and force it to the faucets.

I had the same problem. It's possible you have a blockage in filter at the base of the pump, in the tube from the water tank to the pump or the tank vent is blocked. The tank has a pickup tube that draws water from the bottom of the tank, the tube from the tank to the pump connects at the top of the tank. My problem was a washer that fell off my fill hose and into the tank, was fine until it plugged the tube to the water pump. I used a shop vac attached to water fill and was able to remove it.

Thats exactly what I wanted, many thanks, some shots from outside would be FAB when you get the opportunity.
I will have to read the T's and C's for advertising on the forum as I don't want to tread on anyones toes, nearly all of the covers I have supplied have been sent to the USA, So keep the referrals going and if/When you get over to the UK (Scotland in Particular), there is a bottle of Scotlands liquid medicine with your name on it waiting for you :)

I will get some outside shots this weekend. If you need any close ups of particular areas, let me know. I will get those as well. Thanks for the offer on the drinks! I'm just happy to put you guys together as I remember the utter despair when I was trying to locate mine.

Where is the tank vent at? If it's blocked then what your saying is as it pulls water its fighting a suction and when it shuts off the suction pulls the water back? If that's the case then just opening the fill would let me know if that's the problem, right?

Any tips or tricks on how to check the ‘95 V-drive transmission fluid? Heat up to operating temp? My manual doesn’t say much...it also states Do Not pull the port plug, which had me worried since they’re installed in reverse. Is the port now starboard or is the port port? Yes there are sticks on both sides

Hello! See attached drawing of starboard side thru hull fittings, the water tank vent is close to the fill location.

Very nice, is that a "Off the shelf frame" or did you get that custom made ? I like to idea of using the original Bimini section too.
They do say Imitation is the best form of Flattery, so be prepared to be flattered :))

Thanks
Tony

I honestly don't know if its factory or custom, sorry. It came with the boat when I purchased the boat in 2009.
