310 Sundancer Thread (2007 & newer)

its on the starboard side of the starboard hinge running aft forward.
i have 2 theory - 1 stress from years of lifting that heavy hatch with compartments having extra weight and those hinges being small in comparison to width of hatch. or 2- the actuators not lifting evenly and causing stress on that corner. my plan is to remove the entire hatch this off season and have the brackets joined with a piece of aluminum stock and through bolting along its length to strengthen it. and obviously fixing that corner damage.

Finally got the 310 sundancer delivered Friday. Spent all weekend cleaning her up. Starting to look pretty good. Only issue was a broken mercury GPS antenna cap and housing. New one was ordered today and will be here Wednesday. Boat delivery driver is paying for the new GPS antenna!! Cant wait to get out on it next weekend

Congrats on the purchase of the boat! It my first season with and they both looks similarly equipped. My CFD was changed to a Garmin Chartplotter/fishfinder. My first upgrade before I even picked the boat up was the decking, makes the boat looks even nicer and cleaner. Took out the older TV and installed couple of new ones. I'm learning all my systems, reach out if you have questions.

My electrical outlet for the electric grill has stopped working. Does anyone know if there is another GFI outlet besides the one in the bathroom? I can't seem to find another one. Unfortunately it was working when I had the survey done in early July.

Did you reset the breaker in the plug itself? It has a resettable breaker in it. You have to feel around to find it but it’s there in the bulky part of the male grill plug.

I did check that breaker. I am able to run the grill using an extension cord to another outlet.

I’m not aware of another GFI outlet other than the one in the head.

If other GFI protected outlets are working, I’d probably take a look at the back of the grill outlet to verify there’s no corrosion that’s compromised it?

If I remember correctly, the switch at the panel says accy, not outlets.
Might want to make sure it's on.

Good point...the “Accessory 1” AC breaker has to be on as well. Hopefully that’ll be it and the OP will be back grillin’.

I ran into this or similar issue when i got my boat. I did not try another outlet though. I called Kenyon and then sent me a new heating element ($70), they said the old element had a recall on it and caused the wires to cause the constant shutdown. Initially mine worked, but when I cleaned it, I lifted it a bit to high which caused the wire to break or something. For me, it would start for 10 seconds and then trip the circuit.

I also mentioned that my griddle had white spots for they replaced it for free.

My 2008 original owner didn’t option the cockpit electric grill. I’m looking at a new Kenyon electric grill for $700 or so. I’ll mount it above the cockpit fridge...same lactating as the factory option.

Hope the wiring is there!! ;)

Similar TV question: anybody add a tv to the forward berth location and mid-cabin location where they are a factory option?

I’m wondering about the wiring, maybe just stuffed behind ad part of the cabin wiring harness?

Take delivery in less than a month of a new-to-us 2008 310.

i have replaced factory tv's in all 3 original locations. my 3 tv's were factory installed so all 3 had dvd and 110v outlets for them. if the boat didnt come with factory tv's im not sure if they run 110v outlets for the locations.
the wiring for the foward is in the tall cabinet- it has 2 access covers located inside for access to the 110v outlet/dvd wiring and cable tv if its wired for it. the aft tv is also easy as the cabinet on the port wall has a rear panel inside that is removed with 4 screws, then remove the cabinet door and you have access to all wiring.
Mid tv was the most difficult because you need to remove the electrical panel and door to the cabinet to get access to wiring.

i have read in the past that if you give 12v power to cig. lighter by helm you can raise the engine hatch, i believe this was on a different model but wondering
if anyone has tried it on a 2007 310DA ? i had a bad bank of batteries recently and was able to lift the hatch by using cross over switch on helm but got me thinking about
jump starting if all the batteries were dead. thanks

I have been stalking this forum for several months not wanting to post until I could add value. I want to thank everyone for their contributions. This forum has been a wealth of information. I recognize the question was asked a while back, but I wanted to share; a jump box with cig lighter attachment plugged in below the throttle control will raise the hatch. I also learned today that connecting jumper cables to the lugs at the fuse panel beneath the steering wheel will also power up the hatch. Apparently I have a dead short somewhere draining the port side batteries.

two comments:

1. My hatch actuators are on the starboard battery bank, along with the rest of the helm. Port bank is all house circuits. You might double-check which of your banks is actually dead.

2. I just noticed your location in your profile. I think you must be the only other csr member in Milton. Small world. Do you keep the boat on Lanier at Bald Ridge?

Stephen - you are correct I misspoke it is the starboard bank that keeps getting drained.

Yes we are on Lanier, but we keep the boat at Port Royale. Coincidentally it's currently at MM at Bald Ridge in hopes they can chase down the cause.
